Give Me an Answer - If All Religions Are Equally Valid, Does God Exist? or Does God Even CARE?

Ойын-сауық

Program 1921 ................... - Who is God? - Contradictions? - Relativism
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

God makes it clear he isn't a big teddy bear to cuddle up to, when you wrong another person that can have serious consequences, but when you stand in the presence of God and disobey the creator of your very being there's a heavier price to pay which Jesus did for us. because still to this day we turn our back on God, who gave us our bodies to do so.

@@ramptonarsecandle it's not about murdering children. it is only a test of faith to see if Abraham would obey God even if it means that he would let go of the thing that he always wanted to have. and at the end in verses 11 and 12, it says, "Just then the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham, Abraham!” . “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him,” said the angel, “for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.” " God sent an angel to stop Abraham from killing his son proving that God's intention wasn't to kill Isaac, it was to measure Abraham's faith. God obviously doesn't want Abraham to murder his son, God's intention was to test Abraham if he is worthy to receive the promises that God declared. hope this clears things up.

You can immediately dismantle any kind of statement like "everything is subjective" by simply asking, "is it objectively true that everything is subjective". The objective denier instantly self defeats and contradicts his own statement by making an objective statement to deny objectivity.

Not really, the problem is that subjective is not the same as relative. " Is it objectively true that everything is relative?" If you say yes that you just contradiction yourself. But everything is subjective is a sound statement. Subjective just means something is defined with a particular set of rules. So what's subjective? It's those things subject to rules. Objective means those rules are set to an object. So a painting can be subjectively good and objectively good. Morals can be objective and subjective. Example in what we call "Universal values" those are values that can be seen objectively. On the other hand Moral is subjective not objective because morals are rules of a society that are deemed good or bad. So morals are subject to the rules of a society, while universal values are a set of objects that can be observed. Example one universal values is civismo or civis virtue. Civismo is the act of being on the look out for other citizens in your country and help them lived and work day to day. You can see how civismo is has and objective to be met. That it's what makes it objective. It's clear and set, it doesn't change according to anyone. Now stealing is a subjective action. It can be good or bad according to different people and it's meaning can change. For someone stealing is taking things without announcing them, as long as you say " I am taking this" you can take whatever you want. So yeah, obviously not everything is subjective,. because we have objective values in life for different things. A boat can have objective values to determine it's hull integrity. Those values are objective, they will tell you if the hull meets the objective of working capacity. So, everything is not subjective, but a lot of things are both subjective and objective. The problem is people use relative and subjective thinking they are saying the same thing.

As has been said, “we don’t do the converting, God does. Our effort should be to just metaphorically “put a rock in their shoe” , give them something to think about. If you have an issue, as a Muslim, with Christ’s death because you don’t believe he would allow an innocent to suffer, remember that the sacrificial lambs were required to be without blemish. Remember the Passover and how it began. Christ told us that the Passover meal is his body and blood poured out for us, and to eat of it (to accept and partake in what he did). Yes, he suffered, but it was for the highest cause, and now he is at the right hand of the most high, and we each have an invitation to join Him. Remember when Abraham showed that he would sacrifice his only son to God? A sacrifice was provided in his place - stuck to a tree. Abraham is the father of faith, and his offspring the child of the promise. As Abraham was prepared to give his only son, God instead gave His. That isn’t weakness, it’s a display of immense love and power.

"If you love me, keep My commandments." Jesus said this, so let's always remember that to stay away from sin, follow the law. I pray for every Atheist or struggling Christian out there because we can all get confused at times and we misunderstand God at times. But you should always remember that having an open mind to communicate with a stranger can be beneficial, so is having an open mind to communicating with God. When I felt lonely at times in my room at university, which I am a loner, knowing about God not only gives me a peace of mind, but it helps me know that I'm not completely alone. And faith in Jesus is trusting that He is truly with me in all my woes and celebrations, despite that I physically celebrate those alone. So whilst people say people create God so they don't feel lonely, that is not true. I feel lonely so God draws me to Him, why? Because He loves me, wants me to know that though I am physically alone, in my heart, He is with me. I feel that most Atheist think that lives of believers are all fairy tales, but to be honest, we have a had time being moral at times. But Jesus, having lived, died and risen, we know we can do it because He guarantees us that we can do it with Him as the template of how to live a life that benefits us through loving God and our neighbours. Spread repentance and love. Spread there gospel of His coming and the good news of Salvation.

I believe that Mohammed was an utterly corrupt conman who associated himself with existing religions which had credibility (judaism & christianity) in order to set himself up as a supposed prophet. He needed to retain some help for the poor only for show to present a good face (2% zakat tax on income for muslims rather than 10% tithe common amongst jews & christians). The evils Mohammed did far outweigh any nominal showing of compassion as he was actually a warlord and a tyrant indulging in murder and slavery including sex slaves. In sunni books, the disrespect to the Prophet is alot, making alot of people out of the muslim community to question what Muhammad really did. Also, Muhammad didnt need to ve a Jew to be a Prophet. Jesus said as much in the parable of the wicked tenants where God finally sends them his Son in the hope that they will respect him (see Mark chapter 12). This is echoed in the Book of Hebrews chapter 1 “On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets. But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe”. The prophets ended with Christ the Son of God as Jesus was God’s final Word to mankind. Mohammed was a fraud and an anti-Christ to deny that Jesus was the Son of God. Believing in Christ means that you do all that he says and that you love him just as he said he wants you to. Christ himself says if you love me you will do my will. I comepletely understand what the kid was trying to say. I have a theory about islam... My theory is that islam was actually christianity beign taught to a different language and the differences came to be in translation. I belive that mohamed tried to teach scripture in his own interpretation because of the language berrier made his theology switch in fundamentals... For example... When islam says jesus wasnt crucified it only appeared to be... Maybe what it means that he wasnt killed by others will but it was Gods will all along.. But then you explain it in arabic, and theres no escape but to take it literal.. spliting one fundemental belief into 2 different ones.. I think that mohamed was some kind of joseph smith or JW type thing.. where they scratched their head on thing they didnt understand... And decided to interpret themselves, and ended up with a whole different theology. For example mohamed could have learned that theres only One God from scripture... But not understand the trinity and no way to understand it because his mind works in his first language wich makes it imposible to mean trinity= 1 ... Give it hundreds of years more and the gap expands.

This choice is subjective, but once I use it as a base, I can make objective statements and critiques of their actions based on that. I personally hold value in the well-being of the other people. Therefore I don't think they should be genocided. How do I convince them? Depends on the person, but many arguments can be made on why one should care about others. "I do not need a consensus of men to tell men Killing babies is wrong, because to me it is a moral absolute, but with moral relativism who is to call Hitler out for what he did to the Jews or killing babies?" Since I do not believe in moral absolutes, I obviously disagree. While I agree that killing babies is immoral, and should be legislated against a strong feeling is not the same as Truth. It would be like a judge letting you go after robbing a gas station because you saved a bus full of kids from drowning. You still have to pay for your crimes. Otherwise the judge is unjust. You can't work your way to heaven, it doesn't erase the evil you've done.
