Girsan Regard, back at the range after the upgrades.

Спорт

Finally got some nice weather and made it back out to the range with the Girsan Regard to fire it after all the updates made in the last several videos.
Updates include a Beretta factory extractor and slide stop, Wilson Combat 14 pound hammer spring, and custom grips.
This time the pistol successfully ran both the Beretta and KMag 30 round magazines. This video is essentially me making holes and enjoying it.
If you found this video helpful, and buy stuff on Amazon anyways, then I'd appreciate you using this link for your next purchase: amzn.to/36sqW49
It will cost you nothing extra, and I'll make a few cents as a commission on your purchase.

Just did the Langdon OP trigger bar and a D spring. Started at a 10# DA and 5.5 SA trigger pull. When I was done, I have a 8.5 and 3#. Ernest Langdon states that most US made berettas, the trigger bar is drop in. Italians need some fitting (very easy). Our Girsans are just like the Italians :)

Just bought one and it’s pretty damn good. Also, I never expected a FSM shirt wearing KZread channel to be reviewing guns, so that was a but if a surprise. But I love it. Cheers.

I know you'll enjoy it, great pistol. The only upgrade I'd recommend is getting a lighter weight hammer spring (and maybe custom grips). The rest of the internals are fine out of the box, and mostly compatible with stock Beretta parts.

Did you ever figure out if it was just a certain mag? Can you possibly link me to what you think is the best 30 round mag? You are the only person I get information from on my new regard MC R9. Super hard to get info on it. Youve been crazy helpful

Just got in the house and a bit wiped out, so forgive me if I miss something. Basically the 30 round K Mags are shit in this pistol. 15 to 20 malfunctions per 30 rounds. The 30 round Baretta mags are less shitty, but you will be lucky to make it thru all 30 rounds with one. I save those for my PAK9 and Sub2K I haven't tried any other brands of 30s, I've got enough of them to feed the PCCs so haven't bother try any others. Will all the other mags I have, including 17s, 18s, and MecGar 20s, I have maybe a handful of malfunctions over about 1000 rounds. Close enough to flawless as your gonna get with almost any pistol. Hope this helps, if it doesn't just ask again :) eb

I've had this one in my cart at Amazon for a while, haven't bought or tried it out yet: amzn.to/3k8F5JQ It's about the only one I've seen that will carry with a light attached. I use a basic leather belt holster that won't support a light when I carry. Hopefully someone else will reply with what they use.

@@TwoAcreHomestead I've actually been looking at this exact one as well. Doesn't seem to be much info out there on holster compatibility. Thanks for the response I'll probably end up going with one of those from Amazon because I don't want to dump a lot of money into a holster that may not work.

No. The upgrades i did had no difference in the performance of the firearm. The 30 round Korean mags simply don't work well in this pistol, the Beretta 30s work better, but 100%. I stick with the Mec Gar 20 round mags and they are flawless.

They are awesome guns. Hardly use my XD(m) after getting this one. If you get the grips, you might have to adjust the holes slightly. I just scraped not even an 1/8 of an inch with a knife from each of the holes to make it line up with the screw holes on the Girsan. Not much of a hassle but figured I'd give a heads up.

Holster can be a bit tricky if you have the rail under the barrel. I use a leather belt holster that allows the whole barrel to stick thru, only really covers the trigger plus an inch or so.
