It’s really funny how we are so mesmerized by Seohyun and Yuri that we don’t notice the Pantene logos during the video

Secret is a Pantene ad 😂

Dancing Queen was basically Duffy's Mercy. She sold the song to SM for an Asian release, then released the song on her own. The song became a worldwide hit. SM went on to prepare a whole comeback for SNSD around mid-2008 with Dancing Queen music video already filmed and album photo shoot already done, but Mercy was too big of a hit that SM ended up scrapping the whole comeback. A screenshot of the music video was used as a promo picture for the group instead. SNSD ended up releasing Gee like 6 months later, taking the skinny jeans and colored jeans they wore in the Dancing Queen music video and went absolutely viral with it. Almost 5 years later, before the I Got A Boy comeback, SM finally released Dancing Queen as part of their mini-album and released the video as a teaser for the comeback. :)

The funny thing about the IGAB trailer is there was a huge oops moment in it. If you look carefully at Sunny's cap, it looks like it's blurred out. That's because the cap says "Motherfucker" - and no one caught it for awhile. Eventually someone must have clued in SM because they did blur it.

-Adrenaline yes they did it live 😂 Eventhough have no breath between but the voice go shorter than when you have echo. You can hear voice background have echo (when they dance) -Secret when you said “It must Pantene comercial” I laugh so hard😂 Because it is -Dancing Queen have the same sample with Merci by Duffy. At first, SM use Dancing Queen become tittle track for album but Duffy released first, so they use Gee instead. When SNSD comeback with IGotABoy, Dancing Queen like a gift for fan. -Bad Girl on live stage actually set you on fire

14:35 Funny you should say that, because Galaxy Supernova was in fact used in an advertisement campaign for Samantha Thavasa Jeans! Snsd has quite a few ad songs, my favorites are Chocolate Love (for Samsung, F(x) had a version as well), HaHaHa (also Samsung, the airport video is really fun) and Cabi Song (with 2PM, to promote the Caribbean Bay water park)

They have a bunch of fun advertisment songs! I love Chocolate Love and Galaxy Supernova. Cabi Song is legendary too lol. There's also Himnae/Way To Go which was originally an ad for Samsung Haptic phone (but with different lyrics, and titled Haptic Motion). There's also Visual Dreams for Intel.

The Adrenaline performance was live. It was their showcase. The secret song and mv is basically a deal sm made with pantene because the girls got a pantene cf deal to promote their shampoo and other products. So they weren’t an official subunit! Duffy had released Mercy before SM could release Dancing Queen for the girls, they had both got the rights but she released first and it got so big that SM decided to pull it as the title, and they came up with Gee, that ultimately was the best choice cus it skyrocketed the girls in South Korea.

'Dancing Queen' recorded in 2008 was compared with 'GEE' and finally 'GEE' became the comeback song. But perhaps because of its good quality, 'Dancing Queen ' was the pre-release of 'I Got Boy' in 2013. It was announced as a release song. This song is also sung live in 'Sketchbook', and Seohyun, Jessica, Tiffany, and Taeyeon show us their wonderful singing. This wasn't a sample but an original song. It was supposed to release instead of GEE back in 2008 but because Duffy's Mercy was so popular they didn't. SM went with GEE as their comeback song in place of this, and the rest was history.

Adrenaline was performed live at their showcase, but I think SM did some major processing before uploading it. Back then I saw a fancam (that got taken down of course), they sounded fantastic, but not as unnaturally flawless as in this clip SM posted.

For me its seems you'll enjoy SNSD bside a lot. Songs like Karma Butterfly(iconic performance btw), Check, Mood Lamp etc. As for MVs there still left Chocolate Love, My Oh My, Love&Girls, Divine and Sailing(0805). Also for Hyoyeon comeback will be nice to have a look to her other MVs too.

I love Bad Girl, it's such a great song. Just in general I think SNSD has really great Japanese albums. But the video also made me think of the Japanese version of Mach by Rainbow. Man I loved Rainbow 😭

In 2009. They filmed 2 MV which are gee and dancing queen. SM choosed to released Gee as that song more catchy and getting more recognition.

Back in the day there was another live version of Adrenaline that I always watched of this song. I hadn't seen this one before. TTS was so good. I didn't know they had a fixed audio for Bad Girl. I still have the old version in my You Tube playlist that I made back in 2015.

Bad Girl is such a bop, all of SNSD's Korean comebacks are good but nothing like their Japanese discography, they are literally the queens of Japanese albums in kpop. Songs like Flower Power, Great Scape, You Aholic or Motorcycle are my favourites, and it would be great if you could react to them, although most of them are live.

Taeyeon's peppero hair style in BAD GIRL was such a good look for her, also loved seeing baby Taeyeon in Dancing Queen, complete with cute chubby cheeks and tummy. She was so adorable. 2nd Generation Kpop was so full of talented female groups.

About 'Dancing Queen' They were going to release the song in 2008 around the time Duffy's Mercy came out but then Mercy became so popular they decided to wait and instead changed their title song to "Gee" Dancing Queen is more of a gift for the fans more than anything and it helped with the teaser showing how much they've grown since then until now and the whole "time travel" snsd comeback is on January 1st. Thats when I Got A Boy will be released ^^ SM does that sometimes. They buy the writes to a song and make different lyrics and a killer dance out of it. As you know now, this music video showed them now in 2012, then went to 2008, then showed what they will bring in 2013. And yes. "I love the effect they have on their vocals". Yes, in my opinion, this is what Autotune is actually for ... rather than what it is predominantly used for in Pop music around the world today. (That is, to 'fix' the vocal sounds of 'singers' that can't sing on pitch). Of course, in the studio, Melodyne is ultimately superior to Autotune (although it is manual, so a lot more work for the sound engineer). But Autotune is automated, so the only real choice for real-time use with an artist that is singing live, but needs to have their voice corrected to stay on pitch. (The alternative to 'lip synching' ... having the advantage of allowing realistic sounds like their breathing due to dancing etc. still coming through, as well as their lip movements always matching the sound).

Dancing Queen is original as well as Mercy by Duffy. The producers gave the song to her company and SM for English and Korean version (both in 2008, you can see why SNSD back in time to 2008) But Mercy was released it first and became famous so SM decided to changed Dancing Queen to Gee instead. And Gee became famous right? SM do it right for this.

the adrenaline performance is not live, it uses the best trick of the k-pop industry: pre-recorded live vocals, so the vocals aren't edited like the studio version but they are not actually singing while dancing, instead they're using previously recorded live vocals (that they sang while standing). That's basically what 90% of the industry uses nowadays.
