True has the American flavor of USA a music lee so man actually said Kpop was a reference from American music. It is reflected world wide witch streaks to everyone world wide

just as is was chikk’s first release in kpop, mr mr was my first kpop song before even knowing what kpop was, the song had a it factor and had me in a grip for years. thank you for this masterpiece

Kenzie is such a legend. Chikk, being called Kenzie, was thrilled by it. She's got such a fun personality, and it's so nice she's down to talk more about her other works with SM

good to know (horrible, awful to know) that SM and co. mess around with not only the artists' checks, but the songwriters' and producers' too. thank you Chikk for fighting to be paid for your vocals (even though she should not have ever had to, like come on now...) and thank you Umu for posting this interview!!!!

Mr Mr was the first Girls Generation comeback I experienced. I loved the song right away. They need to make more songs with those epic key changes

Ok WAIT. HOLD THE FUCK UP. Recollection by BoA is my favorite kpop song ever, and when I saw she wrote the top line I genuinely screamed. I haven't even watched the video and I already worship this woman.

i'm in kpop BECAUSE of the sm sound that chikk most likely and most definitely helped shape. the unpredictability that i don't often get in western music, the mixing of genres, the complete subversion of everything that is "conventional" in the musical sense, like CHIKK. thank YOU for ALL of the work that you've done in the kpop scene. you should be insanely proud of your resume and everything you've accomplished.

Chikk Bell has made so many bangers for K-pop, especially SM. So glad Umu got to interview her!

Glad she addressed the importance of getting paid what you are worth is SO IMPORTANT, especially given what's happening with writers of a different type stateside. Thank you, Chikk, for being one of the many black songwriters that got me into SM's artists and music. I wish more kpop fans understood how vital black songwriters/producers (and black people tbh) have been elemental in kpop's rise from the very beginning and have been responsible for SM's biggest hits.
