Emma! You can two-hand the crossbow in order to aim (like with a bow). If it's in the offhand, you just need to Hold Y (or Tiangle) instead of tapping to two-hand the weapon in your left hand. Hope this helps :)

Pro-tip: Splitting the session into two parts split between you and Emma might help distribute the views more evenly, rather than everyone running to watch the first one that gets posted. Just something to think about for the next jolly cooperation.

Amazing job on clearing the area! You guys taking the longer alternate path to the other side of the fog door, clearing the 'ambush' on your way, seeing the messages talking about an ambush on the **side you've already cleared** and thinking it was about the other side of the fog door, and then taking the harder roof path every single time in fear of the 'ambush', is the most Dark Souls experience possible. I was so very happy you managed to find the bonfire in the end! The blending of that ladder with the environment is so mean and definitely intentional!

Dennis is definitely 100% real. No one can convince me otherwise.

Such a wholesome playthrough - the joy of finding the zweihender was absolutely heartwarming :D Also, Magerold: "I think that sword is fake. You see, there are a lot of "legendary swords" around these parts". Symbally (distracted): "Ooh, he said there are legendary swords in this area" XD

You should have enough Twinkling Titanite to get your Sunset Staff to +4 at this point. If you infuse it with dark at blacksmith McDuff then your Dark Orbs will probably do 30-50% more damage compared to the Sorcerer's Staff that you're currently using. Also the Hexer's Hood increases the number of casts for all of your spells so you'd get at least 2 more casts of Dark Orb if you put it back on.

You know the reason you guys make the best Souls co-op videos? Emma+Amber=Ember.

Excellent job, as always, ladies! An important summoning tip for future reference, if you ever need it: You were able to summon each other as Phantoms with a normal White Sign Soapstone after both defeating a mini boss, since there is still a main boss left in the area. HOWEVER, if the main area boss is defeated, you would be unable to summon a Phantom, but you CAN still summon a friend as a Shade using the Small White Sign Soapstone. The only catch is the Shade will be on an approximate 8 minute time limit and each kill by either person will lower the duration. This time limit can be extended to 12 and a half minutes with the Name Engraved Ring equipped. Best of luck on your future adventures! Been loving the playthrough!

1:31:00 lol, they're talking about Maria from Bloodborne. Just a heads up, there's going to be a community event from 26/02 to 11/03 called Return to Drangleic where people go back and play DS2 again, so you might run into more online players than usual.

The joy is bountiful and contagious. Again proving that DS2 is for somebody, even if it is not for everybody ;)

Feels like I just saw this the other day ;) Here's a spoiler-free lore fact about the Forlorn invaders: "Forlorn" is not the name of a person. It is the name of a group of people. I think that explains why they are everywhere and sometimes show up with a different weapon. It is a different person each time. And they are all over place because they are forlorn, they don't belong anywhere.

Slight spoilers about the name engraved ring since you guys were talking about it early in the video You can safely replace the name engraved ring once the player joins the game, it's only needed to help find the summon sign before the cooperative play.

Miss this series. Hope all is well

I love watching you guys play Souls games together so much! Smelter Demon is my nemesis forever lol, this was the first Souls game I ever played and the dude whooped my butt like 90 times. One of the very few times in my entire life I've had to leave a boss and come back later.

I've not played through DS2 without some kind of powerful ranged tool. It was Sorcery/Hexes on my first playthrough, and then the Dragonrider's Bow on my STR/Zweihander character. It's not so bad if you're slow and patient!

It feels like deja vu all over again…

Just a fun fact, if you roll into the water urns they give you 50% resistance to fire for 30 seconds. Useful for the smelter boss

I think it's actually 30% fire resistance for 5 minutes from any source of water (puddles, rain, urns, etc...). It will also reduce your lightning resistance a bit though.

That is, I imagine that if one were to approach the hidden doors from the other direction, one would come out to the side of the ballista--which would then be pointed at the enemies in the room in front of it. Anyway, more importantly, you two are a delight together, and I'm glad to have more Amber Dark Souls to watch! ^_^

One of my favourite places to farm souls 🤓 ive completed ds2 5 times now and it allways hits me 😊

Funny thing... i always had trouble with Iron Keep having so many fast enemies. Not too long ago i started doing a Soul Level 1 run, recently going through this place... Let's just say that i hanged around longer than anticipated ^^; More than 10 attempts at Smelter Demon, had to get used to his attacks with worse rolling... Still, i really like this boss and how he attacks (even if some of them have too big of a range). But at this point i'm already finished with the whole area and now getting jumped on in Brightcove Tseldora... After that i will have only "The Depths" remaining, which i feel is way easier. Good luck with the rest of the run!

Dark Fog is great for killing distant enemies. It has extremely long casting range and most enemies die to a single cast.

Hey Amber, Been really enjoying your content. Hope you're enjoying the game. Dark souls 2 SoFS is kinda rough compared to vanilla (my first dark souls game). I did have a possible recommendation to throw out too. If you do enjoy these types of games, Remnant and Remnant 2 are really solid. Especially 2. Lot easier multiplayer and some really fun stories. As a person who always plays these games magic first, the only time I found Ironkeep easy was when I played through with a shield and hammer. That was also the first time I beat ruin sentinels without summoning.

The Alonne Knights aka Twinkle Toes run that way because it's how Japanese swordsmen run in most of their media. And the Alonne knights use katanas. It looks a lot sillier in full plate armor than like. A hakama. :3

If you ever need to farm souls, bonfire ascetic on the Balrog, being it gimmick it doesn't get harder, it's very simple to learn, and it gives lots of souls. You can do 1M with 7 bonfire ascetic.

You 100% can take the engraved ring off, it’s is only used to match you two together

Now Lucatiel's storyline is a failure if you don't use Bonfire Ascetic.

That's the worst part of the base game out of the way, only one DLC area that's worse. That Pharro's lockstone at the beginning just unlocks a small alternate area, can be used to farm rusted coins (Covenant of Champions can be used to keep the enemies spawning, just remember to leave the covenant after finished farming or else summons are disabled and enemies are stronger. You can also farm the Desert Sorceresses in Harvest Valley for Wilted Dusk Herbs the same way. Oh and it might be worth using both the Sorcerer's Staff and Sunset Staff so that you don't need to repair as often.

The Zweihander in DS2 sucks ass.
