Awesome drunk lore lol Here is the myth you mentioned and forgot about for the rest of the video. I think the relationship with the Eye of Yelough in game is pretty straightforward as the frenzy causes bursts from the eyes. And the plant origins myth. "According to the legend all happened when a childless native American couple asked the god Tupã, king to all gods and god of thunder, to make their desire to be parents possible. The request was granted and the couple had a beautiful, healthy baby boy who was cherished throughout the tribe. Envious of his qualities, Jurupari, the god of darkness, decided to kill the little boy. One day, while the boy was gathering fruit in the forest, Jurupari turned into a snake. Tupã sent deafening thunders warning the parents of the danger the boy was in, but there was no time until the snake killed the boy with its venom. Thus, Tupã ordered the child's eyes to be planted so that a plant could be born from them. The fruit of this plant should be given to people to eat in order to give them energy. In the place where the eyes were planted, the guarana was born, a fruit that has the appearance of eyes."

@@quelaag Total speculation here, but Godwyn seems like the type to pass down his great rune while still alive. He made peace with the dragons when he could have summarily executed them, and is remembered fondly by every in-game account. Symbolically, he held the demigods together as a family, and his death seriously divided them. I can think of no individual more suited for the anchor rune than Godwyn, and none less suited than Godrick. Great runes can be acquired via murder, and both GRRM and Miyazaki are big fans of royal intrigue and succession crises.

this is a longshot on a year-old video, but I just noticed something about the Crimson and Navy Hoods, which both go with the Noble set: both depict flowers at the rear the Crimson Hood (stated to be gifted to undesireables exiled to a quest for guidance against their will) depicts an unidentified stemmed flower. It looks like a Fulgurbloom but I'm not sure it's even a flower found in the Lands Between the Navy Hood gifted to those who voluntarily seek guidance of grace) has what appear to be Trina's or Miquella's Lillies, but only the flowers with no stem Not sure what to make of this, other than perhaps that a stemmed flowering plant provides VIGOR while the more ephemeral flowers sustain the MIND

hey I'm glad others are still thinking about this. In lower Lyndel, you can find a church with those sealed windows. its interesting because to me it seems there used to be a flower worshiping religion, before someone moved the carpet aside for there to be a site of grace. The windows and some doors in the area depict three flowers with the doors even showing 3 more flowers growing out the top of one. But in the church you can find a statue of someone propping the middle flower up straight and the other two now growing on the statue like they need stability. But the flower being propped up starts to look more like a tree(with a spear of light emerging from the top flower?). If you look at the underground erdtree, you'll notice one big stem(or trunk now) with two smaller vines or roots spiraling up it, the vines are extremely similar to the two other vines depicted growing on the statue in that church. But it's also basically the same statue as upper Lyndell, but now a more feminine figure holds the spear. I swear I read a comment somewhere that there's a cycle of this flower turning into a tree then back to a flower endlessly, and I think they might be right. But the windows only depict flowers, and for the tree to be created, one needed to be held up, which may have constricted or had some unfortunate effect of the others. They may have even willingly trimmed these other flowers, but you bring a good point up of royalty being sent away. These royals could represent the flowers that did not bloom into a tree or something like that, or just might make things complicated for Marika. But I Truly now believe a great chaotic infinitely growing flower preceded the erdtree and may be the crucible of life that some other life forms came from, the ones potentially hallucinating grace from the pollen of giant man eating flower tree

So I'll amit I don't know anything about hydrodynamics or dams, but could it be that the dam in Nokstella was constructed to artificially bring a flow to the previously stagnant water of Ainsel? It's also possible the water was always flowing, but the dam was needed to permanently trap the rot downstream of the Eternal City (because I imagine it's difficult for anything to travel *up* a dam).

Hey Quelaag, thanks for the awesome deep dive videos. I noticed something corpsewax related I'd love to get your take on: looking at the model for Dragonlord Placidusax, he doesn't appear to be an Ancient Dragon at all. His heads are from second-gen dragons, and he looks like he's a bunch of different pieces held together using golden corpsewax. Is it possible he's been grafted together? I couldn't find any info about this when I looked for it, but I'm thinking maybe he's not the grand-daddy of dragons he's portrayed to be. What do you think? Keep up the awesome lore research!

I just wanted to comment about the double helix and mention the connection to the caduceus symbol. I would definitely recommend doing some more research into the symbol, it may shed some light on some more connections you may not have been aware of. Here is a snippet from Wikipedia: "As a symbolic object, it represents Hermes (or the Roman Mercury), and by extension trades, occupations, or undertakings associated with the god. [...] If applied to the dying, their death was gentle; if applied to the dead, they returned to life." Of course, the double helix and in turn the caduceus share a connection to the structure of DNA as well. P.S. Been a follower of the channel for a long time, I am glad to see you back making new videos again. Love the content! I look forward to seeing more in the future.

More poetic justice than a mix of philosophies. Put simply, using "good" endings: DS1; ya I'm the "Dark" Lord of Humanity but, looking back at the folks I killed, will I be repeating Gwyns' complicated reign? Bloodborne; ya I'm a squid now, but will my success create the ambition that causes another craven Yharnam City disaster? Sekiro; ya I saved the kids & left Japan, but I'm bringing the Sempou Temple parasite infection to the mainland. Elden Ring: ya I repaired the E-Ring with Perfect Order, somehow creating a metaphysical system where everyone is now accepted & co-operating, but what does that even mean? Have I created genuine good or just evolved 'MeriKKKas' Imperialism to Neoliberalism? Does that all make sense?

@@quelaag Yes, of a sort at the very least! "Chaos" is the wrong name though, isn't it? A lie to trick Tarnished (us players, fools we are) into allowing the sad aspect of the Greater Will to restart everything. Everything & everyone dies & is remade, yes, but even dialogue of Frenzy Flames folks & the Great Merchant Caravan reveals it to be rooted in Doomer self-destruction & hate. It is a call of despair, to end the suffering by reforging all creation. That this world isn't worth the effort. We are tricked & forded into this vile plot! I think it is the Three Fingers which symbolize this Doomer Will, while the Two Fingers symbolize Hope. Hope against odds & reason for a better way of life for all. In this sense it represents all of creation, a point before any sort of differentiation. Because of this it is androgynous. Personally, I think Farum Azula was actually situated just north of the Beast Sanctum in Caelid, the center "spiral" of Farum Azula might have been where that Whirlpool is depicted just north west of the Beast Sanctum. There was probably more land mass there as well going up to where the waterfall that dumps out the central sea into the surround ocean while providing walking access to the tower (Malenia's tower). With this in mind I also think the inland sea level was probably a lot higher, at least high enough to feed the river where Highroad cave, and murkwater locals are (as currently that riverbed is dry), down into the "Once was but is still called Lake" of Agheel.

great video. one thing that a lot of youtubers don't mention is that Jesus in a Cross is show to everyone to represent that HE DIED FOR OUR SINS - there is a purpose, so Marika crosses everywhere represents what? it can not be just the punishment that she received after or because of the shattering, it wouldn't make any sense if we compare to Jesus. There is something more there. I mean, in order for the crucifixion from Marika to have relevance there has to be some history there, there has to be more that is been represented - (did she shatter the ring for our sake) and that is why we reverence her?....IMO.

I feel like I've owed you an apology for a long time for some weird ass mean dumb stuff I said. I'm sorry. anyway, that picture meant a fucking lot to me at the time and still does. I wish I hadn't lost the file of it...
