"We´re children who grew up too fast". You just expressed one of the biggest tragedies of this story: the fact that they are just children. When Emma and Norman find out they have to fight for their lives, they are just eleven, and when Ray finds out, he is just six. They didn´t have any adult to save them, because their beloved mama was the one who was helping to kill them. They had to find out the truth alone. They had to plan an escape alone. They had to fight monsters alone many times. When they finally had true parental figures, parental figures who actually loved them and were working so they could live, those were stripped from their hands. This story portraits one of the worst kinds of wars: the one that has to be fought by children.

Love you for pointing that out! For me that was the most important line of the song and you completely nailed why that is in addition to the horrible tragedy that is the entire concept of TPN.

You did an amazing job on capturing Ray´s essence. I have no idea about melodies, but this thing is really catchy. Oh, and thank you for pinning my comment.

As someone who has never encountered anything with this fandom, I’m expectedly a little confused. I do however, LOVE the way this song is written! I think if I were to pick my favorite line it would be “I’ll be the last to die in Neverland” because (since I have no idea what happens in the cannon story line) I think it has two meanings. Either one, the character in question is ending some sort of war or something, and will be the last one to die here. Or, he will rule and never be killed, meaning out of everyone on Neverland, he will prevail and die last. That’s pretty much what I picked up after listening. I love this song so much though!

Super good guesses!! So in this manga, "neverland" is a metaphor for kids who die young (i.e, in neverland you never grow old...in this neverland you never grow old because you die) and Ray in the story and this song is quite self sacrificial so the line is about him deciding he's going to be the last to die young due to his sacrifice!
