Does anyone know how to reverse this problem. When using the "free select tool" to cut out an object. And before object is completely cut out, the squiggly line will jump across the picture, and connect to another part of the object that one has already "clicked" on. Thus ruining the project, causing one to start "over"! When the line "jumps" to another part of the project, thus ruining the project. How can one reverse that one step, to prevent one to continue. Without starting "over"! Thanks

Why can't i sellect multiple areas, for example i select 1 circle and finish connecting it, i cant start selecting anymore

@@trustenbaker8766 I am using the new one as well, I know this is late, however, for anyone else, if you use the lasso, you circle what you want, MAKE sure you connect to the begining of where you started with the lasso, the yello dot is the indicator, if not it wont do anything, than when it is connected, click enter. next, you hold shift to start your next lasso if needed, again, make sure the circle/shape is connected fully by clicking the yello dot. than click enter again. (note while doing the second, third, etc, lasso, hold shift the entire time.) this is how it is done, if that doesn work, there are bugs for some people, google your symptom and you should find a correction.

The shift key isn't working for me to select another section.

Made that tutorial a while ago, will have to retest and confirm still works correctly....

Shift doesn't work with the free selection tool for me, I cannot make the second selection. It works however with the rectangle selection tool. gimp on linux arch

I figured out how to do it. Just hold doen control(ctrl) instead of shift

when i use the lasso tool and then press enter my selection just goes away, i don't get the marching ants. does anyone know what could be causing this?

Yes that can happen sometime, try using the pen tool which is more accurate

You can select, then cut, and then paste into a new layer, can then move that layer
