Gimp: How to change a color photo into black and white. 9 different technics from simple to advanced.
Gimp 2.8.22 standard - Windows 10
👉👉👉NOTE FOR GIMP 2.10 USERS: 1- The option colorify is removed from 2.10. 2- Adjust the values for the channel mixer, and the decompose options. 3- Use the legacy layer modes. 4- Gimp 2.10 has more features to change color to B&W. 5 - Go to colors, desturate and again desaturate. 👈👈👈

Hey Jan, Its me again. When you go to desaturate, you have to click on desaturate again to make the effect work

Many thanks for this tutorial. For me, as a beginner, I found it very easy to follow and the style is friendly and encouraging. As I have 2.10, I will have to take the additional notes into account. I have "colourise". Is this the same as "colorify"?
Thanks for showing the various methods. Great video. BTW I can't seem to find the article in the description that is mentioned at the end of the video. Apologies if it's there and I'm too hungover from last night to see it ;)

Snap het niet echt hoor !!Ik dupliceer dus 9 keer , maar bij de eerste handeling veranderen ze alle negen?Of moet ik negen keer een nieuw openen?

Idd, je moet hem 9 keer als aparte afbeelding openen, dus niet als duplicaat (layer). Hoop dat het nu lukt... 😋 haha

Ok ga ik dan terug eens proberen ....Eerst wat rust inlassen hé en eitjes gaan rapen (lol)
Black and white IS NOT greyscale. Greyscale IS monochrome but it is not black and white. Black and white uses ONLY black pixels and white pixels NOT grey. Look at newspaper photos, they are screened to BLACK and WHITE the tonal graduation is caused by larger or smaller areas of black ink. Computer screens use GREYSCALE - NOT - SCREENING. Rename your video please.
