Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZ Top | Drum Cover By Pascal Thielen

Gimme All Your Lovin' is arguably one of ZZ Top's biggest hits. The very straight forward drum groove drives the song like a steam engine with absolutely no idea of stopping any time soon. Frank beard just keeps the groove going and as a drummer you really feel the urge to play along.
When filming our Recreating Iconic Drum Sounds video about Frank beard we decided to cover this song alongside the famous La Grange shuffle to show very different sides of Beards playing.
If you want to use our recreated drum sounds in your own project make sure to check out our "Sample & Loop Packs" available at shop.artofdrumming.com.

Always amusing when drummers have massive kits to play boots n cats.

Yeah it’s fun how back in the day everyone had huge kits, but played only a bit of it. Nowadays you see people with a 4 piece kit playing the craziest sh*t.

@@ozzku I am much more at home on a small kit. I used to go to a jam night with a huge kit and every drummer used every tom on every fill. I just wanted to play a 4 piece.

I'll be honest I'm one of those guys. But really that's just because I like playing everything from country to ZZ Top to Iron Maiden to (a terrible version of) Slipknot

Unless you're doing Rush or DT covers. @@ozzku
Proper as always. I like how Beard barely hits the crash cymbals esp during the beginning, its like four on the floor and straight ahead beats, real groovy.
Its so weird to be a drummer and see how simple drum beats and simple drum fills just fits songs like a glove. Usually we like to overthink and make things more complicated than they has to be. It is a gift to make it simple and perfect.
Something a lot of drummers might miss on a song like this is that while it’s not the most complicated song, dynamics and consistency is key. Keeping perfect time and making every single stroke sound just like the last is harder than most people think.

It was consistent because the original was an Oberheim drum machine haha

@@tanneryordan True, but Frank plays it live just as consistently.

@@jasonk75 He definitely plays it close. I honestly dislike how Frank had to simplify his drumming live throughout his career because of the drum machines.. He was an amazingly dynamic drummer in the 70s. Lots of ghost notes and jazzy stuff. In the 80s it was just kind of boring and it translated into his live playing.
the coolest-ice cold pascal
And that red hotrod, 😎
Yo whoa man what that was just so awesome
Perfectly nailed the sound of the kit. Great job!
Clean✨😎👌✨
....and no one but a drummer will realize how freakin' difficult that was.

exactly, I've recently started learning and playing this song is my first main goal, but I'm a fair way off at the moment!
Nicely done 🤙🏽

Does anybody know what ZZ Top songs has double bass in them

can we get a jimmy chamberlain/the smashing pumpkins drum sound recreation in the future? particularly from their “siamese dream” album
How much did that whole kit cost and did you ever hit the second kick haha
Can you do a rush drum sound (Neil peart)

At least add a bit of spice
