The cotton thing works extremely well
Mix sounds almost perfect (wish I could hear the ride a little more) Playing is spot on. 🤘
Appreciate your work and I do enjoy. But,... That drum sound, that guitar sound, those cooked phony "countrified" vocals is the typical bland selling formula for the last 40 years, that has really become unremarkable and dull this last decade. I think more bands should go back to the one big room mic recording without overdubs. Count it off and let 'er rip..... After the Texas Swing style of Bob Wills, big band beer hall dixie swing dance country , rockabilly, seemed to end the era with Commander Cody of the 70's. The early Marshall Tuckers and The CDB's style even changed when the 80's hit... The turn in the late 70's for the most part became the formula for this uninspiring bland mix.....An exception, The Mavericks have continued to have the sound that still stands above what I hear "from the kids today". "Country music" today is not far from rap/h hop..... Just walk into your local big box type farm store that pumps in music .(tractor supply) ...... (grindings of an old/young 65 Texas drummer)🤠
so glad you did this as i have an e kit and dont know what he uses and have to adjust using my hearing only. can you do lars's one day 🤞
Do people actually play with their heel off the ground like that? It seems like that would expend a lot of excess leg energy, kind of like moving your whole arm when playing the ride instead of just your wrist.
you make fantastic videos!
Can you do megadeth’s nick menza drum sound
Using Evans mesh head ( batter) on the Bass drum, is there a difference between using EQ3 coated white reso or the Calftone reso?
Morgan Agren next!
Uhhh nice one. Had him at our studio once. What an amazing player and great person, too!
That kids is what musicianship sounds like.
I believe it was nashville session drummer Jerry Roe on this track and it most likely was a deep brass snare w/ a coasted head on top. I know he has a nice craviotto brass snare he uses sometimes.
4:30 that snare tuning my god😍
9:05 as well
Is it ok to take drum and snare sounds from youtube videos and use them in beats made in a daw?
Sounds almost identical to the In Absentia album recording, fantastic result!
The high tuning on the grey hybrid 😮💨❤️🔥. I have the black and it’s gold. I going get the red or blue for my wood snare after I complete repairs. I going low tune it for a fat snare sound. ✊🏼
Definitely the hi pitched snare is the Carly’s sound. He was a great person and great drummer.

He influenced me greatly i have a gretsch kit like his and play that song and others regularly .
enjoyed very much rock n roll is my fav
Most impressive Neil cover I have ever heard...outstanding Pascal! Thanks for the dedication to excellence...
Cymbal felt and loose duct tape works for me. In the 80’s we would fold tissue under duct tape on the snare and good ol electric tape on the rims and we were very happy.
Y’all need to do like a Zach bryan\ Noah khan country/folk drum sound
I love the zz rap stuff, viva loss Vegas through mescalero...some great bests on rhythm Meen
9:35 😂pink??
Good work. I love the videos. But I can't help wondering who wants Luke Combs' drum sound?
Thanks for your video. Excellent!! I like know more about the big fat snare drum dampener used on the first Duke Combs song.
My drum teacher told me "If you can't play like Keith Moon, don't try it". One of my all time favorite drummers, along with Matt Cameron, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Neil Peart and Bonzo. I try to channel them as I play
Excellent work on recreating the drum sound on Flower. Great drumming too !!!
Timeless!
My Mum dated him for years. He died before I was born. He could have been my Dad
THANK YOU so much for making these videos! This style of music is popular in my region of the world and there is a HUGE need for these type videos but most drum channels don't have videos about this style of music. Thank you SO MUCH 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Jimmy buffets drum sound next!
Great job & alot of work rewarded. Snare is bit light in mix - rest is nearly spot on. Outstanding
Great stuff. I'm a guitar player and I've been a fan of Rush since the '70s. Seen them too many times to remember. There were times in some of those shows in the 70s and early 80s when I thought I was watching a robot play drums. He was that crisp and perfect. The audiences were in AWE watching Neil play drums. I remember at one point my mouth was hanging open because I couldn't believe how incredibly perfect he was playing. It was mind-blowing. He was the world's first drum machine.
How about II from Sleep Token? Everyone seems to love his snare. And his dry istanbuls are part of his signature sound
well done
It’s incredible to cover Gavin with all his nuances. Fantastic work!
Zildjian cymbals DO NOT sound good in extreme metal. They are the best for music that isn't as busy, loud, or have such low frequencies. Paiste are by far the best for heavy, fast, aggressive music. Meinl are great, but their hi-hats and rides lack a little in that department. They only have one ride that sounds great for metal and three or four hi-hats. They have a lot of really great cymbals, though, and their chinas and splashes are some of the best in the business. Sabian has some great cymbals for metal, but you are narrowed down to only 2 lines to choose from, and they're extremely expensive. With Paiste, you have more variety.... for metal. You can go the expensive route with the Formula 602 and Signature Dark Energy lines. Or spend less with (the better sounding) Signature Series and Signature Reflector lines. If that is still too pricy, you have the iconic 2002 and Rude lines. I don't like Paiste's Intermediate lines these days, but a lot of people will agree that their beginner lines (PST 5 and PST 7) are the best sounding for the money. They messed up by discontinuing the Alpha Series and replacing it with the 900 Series. The Alphas were Intermediate prices, but sounded pro-level. A lot of professionals used them and still do. I still own an Alpha china, crash, and hi-hat, even though I use mostly Signature Series. I also have some old, discontinued professional line Sound Formula, Innovations, and 3000 Series cymbals. Some of the older pieces sound so good!
The Mars Volta (pick any song) they have great drum sounds
Queens of the Stone Age (pick any song).
Tuning YES , SnareWires YES , Muffler YES, DrumHeads Evans MAYBE ... for me too muffle sounding in the mix - the stock ones for me are better when tuned and muffled with a muffle bag.
Fantastic! Love the range of styles & challenges your selections bring! Keep up the great work! TY
Is there an option for another tom and another cymbal for this kit?
Really appreciate you making this video! Modern country has a VERY specific drum sound, and it's not often talked about, so it's great to finally see some content talking about this sound!
Really nailed those drum sounds. Killer! How about recreating Sean Kinneys kit from Alice in Chains - Dirt?
I like that sound of the drum. That soft sound makes it less pain on ears. Soft but huge sounds.
Ludwig naturally goes with Paiste cymbals, always.
SO GOOD. Gives me hope for the future of drummers around the world.
Please do Mike Portnoy's drum kit from his Dream Theater days, favorably the Siamese Monster.
The snare in Heart's Barracuda is incredible. One of the best I've ever heard.
