I noticed how quick he is to get a shot away too. With the amount of shots we had that were blocked in preseason and against Brentford, we could use someone with a bit of urgency in the box.

When you watch a few leagues you realize that defenders in the PL are on another level. Scoring goals in this league is way easier than when you have the world’s best defenders on your ass. I hope we buy him, and I hope he does well, but let’s not think about comparing him to Harry until he’s played a few matches with the big boys.

I mean, PL pays 80+ mill for a defender, most a Belgian team has paid for a defender is probably around 8 mil. Doesn't change the fact that KAA Gent was the better team last year playing against West Ham (we eventually lost but we brought the better football) or how we (and Antwerp) eliminated Tottenham in Europe few years back.

Bentancur won’t be back for a month or two. If Hojberg goes, need to get someone world class in to replace him. Got Bissouma. Skipp is ok. You really need depth. Look how Bentancur and Bissouma injuries derailed us last season. That’s how you compete with sides better than us. Injuries don’t hurt them. Why we need a top CB in too. VDV or Romero injured we are screwed currently.

@@benwebber8132 Ok but we don't have Europe so it's pretty much impossible to have more midfielders than we do because some will just straight up never play. ALSO, we have Lo Celso who we didn't have last year which is why we're letting Pierre leave. Papa Sarr is already starting caliber imo. So we've got Bissou, Papa, Lo Celso, Benta, Skipp most likely as our midfield for two midfield spots without europe. We probably sell Pierre and Tanguy. I doubt a "world class" midfielder comes here at this point in the window tbh probably sign someone young if we do sign a midfielder.

2 injuries and we are bare bones though. Bentancur not playing yet. So if Hojberg goes he gets replaced. Have cup games even with no Europe. The only way we catch other teams is with enough depth, not having poor options we have had in defence especially. Skipp and Hojberg last year with no alternative other than Sarr was disasterous. Ended our Champions League effectively.

I can see why Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck gets frustrated with him, as Orban's overall playing style doesn't add much to the build up play, but in a more dominant team in a stronger league, Orban could be a superstar. He's just a pure goal scorer, plain and simple. I could see him filling the Benzema vacancy at Madrid, or the goal scoring focus point at Arsenal.
