Big old boars are never easy to find in the outback of Australia where we hunt but occasionally we turn them up. This boar was in cover on the edge of a small water source and we had some running shots as he tore out of the scrub up onto a sand hill. After he disappeared from sight we followed his tracks, found him and finished him off. With over 4 inches of tusk on the longest side and good grinders he was a really good boar for the area.
Rifles used were a Winchester model 70 Featherweight in 7x57 Mauser and a Tikka T3 in .223. Both had Zeiss scopes on them.
