I was just watching your video, the way your pointing the stag to another skull of a feral deer (CERNUNAROOS as I describe them if their feral to Australia), it's a sign of an ancient Celtic deity to thy name CERNUNNOS, the pre-Christaian God of the wilderness.

Had the same problem with a deer here in Florida last year. Can't remember the manufacturer but they where stout little hollow points I believe 62grain ballistic tips from Hornady my buddy gave me as I only had 55grain ball. They opened up perfectly and I recovered all 3. Just didn't seem to be a problem for the little guy. He ended up walking about 30 or so yards before he went down. Didn't run at all just looked around like he was wondering what just happened. My 308 usually drops them or at most run a few yards before dropping. Good shot placement doesn't always mean an instant dirt nap. As for people saying the bolt throw was to short and quick it most be a 22 all I have to say is get a bolt gun in 223/556 and you'll be completely shocked at how quick you can run a micro action. Ruger American ranch is the action I run and boy is that joker quick as hell.

@jasr7075 I love a good steak, but don't approve hunting as a "sport." It would be a "sport" if the animals were armed and could return fire. Low income people who live in, say Alaska, Maine, etc. that hunt to put food on the table is a different matter. "Sport" vs. survival isn't the same thing.
