He's mainly using one hand. Do you have any idea how heavy that shit would be? A claymore averages about 5 1/2 lbs and you aren't gonna be doing much of anything with it one-handed- and this sword looks like it weights at least 5 times that! Even though it looked really shitty, I'm really impressed that he was able to do any kind of one-handed thrust at all.

Heres a tip dont lean forward, the whole trick to swinging a sword this size is a planed counter weight. Practice slow movements and stabilize. That sword dosnt need but a slight pull to power though objects.
When u watched berserk for the first time
Props to this man for becoming Diluc without even cosplaying him.
Your largest mistake: *You're trying to swing a greatsword with your own strength.* Heavy weapons are all about motion and inertial force. If a weapon is too heavy for you to lift or even wield properly, you'll wear down your own muscles in your wrists, biceps, back, chest, and core trying to swing it with strength we're clearly not built to have. Most true greatswords should be wielded with the user's body not _overpowering_ the weapon to alter its path of motion, but rather the user's body should simply guide it. More motion in the hips and core, not just the arms. *Use the weapon's own weight to guide into the next strike, applying leverage with your core and hips, and let the twist of your body guide the greatsword.* This is so that way the greatsword's weight carries YOU more than you actually carry it.

You don't meet the minimum requirements to weild this, two hand to use effectively.
Imagine looking out your window and you see a guy swinging a giant sword on a rooftop
Randomly found this and it just makes me impressed how well dark souls did with it's 'stagger' from not having enough strength to wield a weapon.
Funny enough this looks a lot like the sword I'd like to make myself one day. Inspired heavily by the ff7's buster sword design, but slimmed down to make it useable, barely wider than yours, with a handle just a tad bit longer than yours, and made with a mixture of metals to reduce weight, but keep strength. God it would be great. Sadly don't have the things necessary, or the time to make it for that matter. But the fact that you were able to make a "useable" giant sword by yourself, is quite the inspiration.
Sephiroth: Show off.
The Ming Dynasty Changdao manuals actually have some surprisingly similar techniques, though the Ming Changdao is probably a tenth the weight of your creation!
That back arm out at the ending was a natural thing he did to keep balance and that just makes it cooler.
Suggestion from a fellow #BigGiantSword swinger - For a better chance to pull off 1 handed swings, you have to work with more arcing in which the end of your blade starts further from your body, usually on the ground. Start on centered over back leg/hip, shift center to other side and turn waist, pulling the sword like as if dragging a heavy mace. My inspirations for mechanics come from a combo of studying taichi and bagua. Alternatively there is starting the blade resting on the shoulder and swinging from there. Both use more speed and leverage to move the blade vs brute strength. As a result the sword will come crashing down to the ground with out a second hand to break or neutralize some of the force after. Disclaimer- we use very different shape swords, basically like comparing Cloud to Sephiroth. I commissioned michaelcthulhu to make a custom design for practice. You can look up a video on his video channel for reference entitled "Sumida Sword". Hope this is helpful
because i've been a fan of anime and video games my whole i've been training/playing with huge swords for about 15 year now, it's pretty much impractical for real combat but its a ton of fun, it takes a lot of shoulder and core strength, and you should keep most of the weight close to your body and focus your strikes with the tip. awesome sword btw :)

Actually a functional sword the size of the one he has is feasible. Iook up the "Montante" or the "Spadone", during the renaissance Spanish and Portuguese bodyguards actually used really big sword to defend strategic points and people from multiple attackers. The trick is in its weight and balance, the Montante at best weights 4 kg and has a balance point just a few cm away from the guard.
it's good that u never give up
DUNMAGLASS
I will use this as animation reference. It perfectly fits a stylised undead knight wielding a giant sword he's too skinny to wield. Gonna be fun.
When a zombie apocalypse comes this guy might be killing the zombies
This is so cool! I know as well with momentum and great sense ultra greatswords are in fact viable. Ultra great video! Such a cool sword!
Si this is where "The Rooftop Swordmaster" inspired from

Does this work for giant letter openers to open giant envelopes? Because this video seems to be very useful.
You know there are one handed swords meant for one hand. That’s a two handed sword, requires both hands. You welcome good day
I could use this video for reference if I'm gonna write a character that has a unique sword style.
@judahboyd2107

If it's still useful, look into zweihander or montante sword fighting. Giant swords like that can be swung in wide flowing arcs around the user to keep multiple opponents away or to protect their allies behind them. They are particularly useful for breaking up large formations of enemy soldiers or holding alleyways singlehandedly.
Dont even get me started.
I searched “Comically Large Sword” and I’m not disappointed

Looks pretty cool.
Gregor clegane is still looking for his sword
100 sit-ups, 100 push ups, 100 squats and running 100km everyday should help you swing it perfectly
How heavy is this sword? Maybe Hafthor can use it effectively.
Do you even follow the cutting edge? you're just beating flat!
@jaxryz_380

It’s incredibly heavy, and designed to be a model not to be swung for actual fighting, so I’m surprised he could even pick it up like that
Most of the moves end up requiring 2 hands
Imagine looking up and just seeing this on a roof
The fact that this thing seems actually wieldable with enough strength
This is claymore sword... Legend can hold it.
Everyone gangsta when using two hands until someone one hand wields the sword with ease calling it a “one handed sword”
Where did he get that weapon from
Realistic Genshin impact claymores 😂
Thats so awesome.
Thanks you, this is some good animation reference 🙇
What did you make it with and how? I would like to make one for myself thank you
He s having fun at least
I'm surprised nobody's ever mentioning how admiring the sword itself looks
ive watched this for 30 mins now and ive never laughed this hard
Reminds me of the webcomic, Rooftop Sword Master.
This is a cool attempt at montante
awesomeness
I'd like to ask for the specifications of the sword in the video how thick is the blade, how long is the blade, how long is the sword overall, how wide is the blade, how much does the sword weigh and how long is the grip?
just imagine if he swings the sword so hard it flings off the bulding
How do I get these swords anyone help me
Where did you get that sword?
What kind of sword is this? Where you get it from??
Waiting for that 1 person to lift a 2m giant sword that weights 100kg and swing it like guts.
And this is why historical weapons were never close to this big.
Keep working out like that and you'll get way better at it
Where did u get it
Hey man, a question from a fitness perspective, what physical changes has wielding this giant sword yielded in your body? Any feedback you can give? Would be interesting to know. Awesome blade and great moves btw. :) Subbed

Thanks a lot, that's an interesting question. I noticed the little muscules that control the balance in my body and the ones that makes the torsion in arms, legs and torso were upgraded. Therfore my balance and precition were highly improved. From there on I have to take care of my left arm to have the same training on my right one, first by doing gym, but with time I manage to practice with both arms. Regards.

Hello, where IS it to buy this sword ?
This makes me so nervous
what was it made of?
I would suggest extending the handle of the sword even more, to allow better one-handed, waist motions.
that's like using two swords with one arm
Nice work Man really
Is it full tang
How much does it weigh?
The uses for this video are infinite.
Fencing with one hand *uses both hands right off the bat*
whats the name of the stance shown in the thumbnail?
You could try a custom handle for one handing
Give this man a shield
Where did you get the sword
I think it looks cool, although only for destroying monsters of fighting against another guy with the same sword.
How heavy is the sword
Idk what this sword is from but it reminds of part of the fusion sword from ff7ac/ff7acc
this is why you need to use your non-dominant hand in order to use these
Really cool video man! What is the weight of that sword?
0:45 onwards Reminded me of the Shaolin Wrist Chamber from the movie 36th Chamber of Shaolin
Amazing sword and will be very dangerous with swinger like big show
*when sword has level requirement*
Tbh, that sword be kind of oddly cool
Keep trying every day for a few years and you will be just fine.
I know its like 5 years later, but I want one! BADLY!
I really like that sword.
What a beautiful....and impractical sword.
Heavy setter armor is needed for that and proper training of handling the sword to reduce the amount of recoils.
That could explain why a blackswordsman is to muscule using a biggest sword
