Giant Loop Ride 2023

Фильм және анимация

The 12th annual Giant Loop event has come and gone. Sherman & Tom made their way out for 4 days to explore, network and to just see what all the hype has been about around this event.
These two made there way around the Steens Mtn. Range and along the Alvord Desert, into the Fields Station, and eventually off into Pueblo Mtns. in hopes of finding an old family hunting cabin that Shermans family had used for generations.
We'd like to give a special thanks to Giant Loop for putting this event on, and what a blast it was. Thank you Giant Loop and Team!!
We'll see you out there next year. Follow this llink below to get you some Giant Loop gear today!

It was a great time and Sherman's CRF is pretty cool and a little obnoxious with the yellow front fender, haha.

Sorry that we missed each other there this year. I was hopping to catch you at camp so we could have had a 3rd tw in our group ride. Mine and my buddies did great on the trails this year

We were a little under prepared this year, but next year we'll be easier to spot as we rolled in late this year and had to camp way out in the brush. We're glad to hear the TW's did great though, the last minute rain on Thursday made for a nice weekend.

Tell Motoz they need to make a good duel sport tire that will handle mud and sand in 180 / 80 - 14 (TW200), please. Fun vid, got a little boggy in places but other than that it was a good trail.

Thank you! We're trying to convince them and many others to make a better 180/80-14 tire. So far, everyone seems reluctant on pursuing it, but aren't completely turned away from the idea. So.. fingers crossed for everyone, haha.

@@TeamProCycle Thanks! Point out that the TW has been in production since 1987 so there are a fair few of them out there in use needing tires. My vote would be for either the Tractionator Desert H/T or Enduro S/T for what that might be worth.

I've often wondered if Bridgestone had a patent on that particular size. I wonder if Yamaha had them produce it and had a pact with them maybe of some kind

Enjoyed the video! On the DR650, any tips on taming handlebar vibrations?

  • @TeamProCycle

We're glad that you enjoyed the video. To tame the handle bar vibrations we'd recommend a good alloy handlebar like the ProTaper handlebars. A good soft to medium grip such as the pillow top grips from ProTaper or the ProGrip 714 Rally grips. Next would be a set of the Rox Anti-vibration bar risers. Bar end weights can help as well. A good pair of quality riding gloves can really help.

@@TeamProCycle Appreciate the info! I bought the combination handlebars (Fly brand), foot pegs and risers from ProCycle along with the ProGrip 714 Rally grips. The vibrations are a bit much. I will start with some bar end weights and riding gloves

What tires do you recommend for this ride?

  • @TeamProCycle

    @TeamProCycle

    5 ай бұрын

We'd recommend at minimum a good 50/50 tire (Heidenau K60 or Shinko 244). The more dirt focused the better, because some of the trails can get slick out of nowhere when it rains randomly. Also, you may end up riding a good half hour on the pavement at hwy speeds just to get to a trail system or gravel road. On the DR650 we ran MotoZ Tractionator ADV's (30/70 tire) and loved them! If you plan to go on the Alvord salt flat or the surrounding area, something more aggressive than a 50/50 would be ideal. It can get really soft out there and if you have a bigger bike you'll want that extra traction. We hope to see you out there this year!

@@TeamProCycle There's many acceptable answers. Dubstep electronic is the worst choice, one of the most rotten so-called music movements in the 21st century.
