That's just awesome , it took me forever to build my first troller from scratch . That was many years ago ..and it was all wood ..which took probably a year to complete , unfortunately my first wife had an awful temper .. and she destroyed it and an all aluminum Cessna 173 with a 4" wing span I sat and cut each part by hand it was skinned with news paper aluminum sheeting ..the only parts I didn't craft was the tires and the antique Kraft 6 channel radio .. she stomped it into the floor ..times sure have changed .. RTR used to mean you got a box of wood lol like a Dumas or Billings model ..I remember how cool I thought it was to buy a kit with precut Lazer parts ...3D printers are simply amazing to me . I still sit down at a drafting table with a pencil .... Any way that is an awesome boat .. keep up the great work ..I read that someone suggested a submarine ..I remember a story about a wwii Japanese sub/aircraft carrier .. look it up ..it may make for a really interesting build they essentially used two sub hulls to stabilize the boat . It also housed three planes in a hanger in the deck . . Just for fun I'll bet that would be so cool to print up . That would truly be amazing anyhow good luck I'll be watching

I used to work in a wholesale for steel. for salt water you need a different type of stainless steel. So the stainless is probably good just not rated for salt water. For salt water you need type A2 or indeed A4 and is more expensive.

There is no such thing as "rust proof" stainless steel. Only grades of increasing resistance. If proper care is taken just about all grades will work. The first time it's ignored any stainless grade will rust and corrode.

How do the brushless motors go after the salt water exposure? I noticed you caked them with some kind of spray but wonder if it's a 'per outing' thing or could some delicate epoxy coating on the exposed connections do it? Love the build man, that scale works so well and it rides and lists so realistically!

Honestly they're not too bad! The high quality ones don't need to be oiled so often, the German bearings don't seem to rust like the Chinese ones do. Epoxy would work well, but I'd have to find some nylon bushings to replace the bearings for it to be almost 100% maintenance proof.

For usefulness sake... You need to consider applying your hobby talents into a larger scale... Siri is a top suggestion a useful light cargo vessel on solar First Solar contribute compulsion.. ultimately to be scaled up to something of a houseboat... That probably can transfer report at least three trucks something along the lines of an landing craft.. with a solar roof on top.... The problem that needs to be cracked is horsepower to the screws.. DC electricity contributing 2 gas rotation... This at the same time... The simplest solution is to do like the modern railroad engine band dispatch the solar in..... Ultimately I write this to get you thinking about the future and thinking about how you contribute to humanity and your personal sustainability.. thank you for your videos.. you know a car alternator can be rig to be a motor... Imagine direct solar solar a car alternator and put it to compulsion.. a useful boat may have at least two on each screw... When is solar top roof... This is how the electric car company made it's engines by adding more... It seems to be in the market off the shelf 5 horsepower is the top for 12-volt DC electricity.. and please note in this endeavor take on trying to keep everything completely simple.. like it's that I would RC vehicle.. next thing you know it'll be trying to get these motors above the starting amps that is required to spend the screws.. is puzzling that it has no problem in the modeling world yet in true applications we have this Bugaboo....

Beautiful. RC boats are my specialty. I have built some big and fast ones. Have a couple vids on YT but they are old. Nice you used counter rotating props this time but crazy how they bent so easy. I run my boats in saltwater as well so I use only stainless steel, anodized aluminum or plastic when possible. And year got to keep the salt water away from the electronics. I build scale but fast boats. Great job.
