Sure they have some similar playstyles, but their first matchup definitely wasn't as good or entertaining as this one just by looking at the stats. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but when the gap is as big as it is in this head-to-head comparison, there's no way that the Luka/Harden head-to-head was as good. Same with the Jordan/Iverson head-to-head. The infamous play of Iverson crossing Jordan didn't happen until their 3rd matchup and their first matchup was a no-contest between the two players/teams. Jordan got the best of him BY FAR as Iverson had a low efficiency, low volume performance, and the Bulls won by 40. I'm not sure how anybody who didn't live back then can even know exactly how the first Bill/Wilt meeting went as I don't believe that it was even broadcasted. Even if it was broadcasted but isn't still circulating anywhere, well the memory of whoever lived to see it back then is most likely very questionable. However I won't dismiss it as a possibility that it was the best rookie/vet head-to-head debut although I'm pretty sure just on playstyle/skill level alone it wasn't as entertaining as Giannis/Wemby.

Wemby is just crazy af. Few month ago the kid has changed country, discovered new teammates, try to be used to the nba schedule, still a teenager, plays on a bad team and is the main focus of the opponent every fuckin game .. and he delivers these kind games

He will win MANY more games than wemby at least for the first 2-3 years of their career because the talent on the spurs surrounding wemby is that much worse than chets. However, if their teams were switched, wemby would be performing better on OKC than chet is rn, and chet would look much worse if he were on the spurs. Personally I hope both of these guys reach their peak potential because they are both amazing to watch.

@@micahjohnson138 ??? Giannis has been blocked plenty times dude. I have seen everyone from Jared Allen to AD,and embiid and other rim protectors block Giannis in a similar fashion. And it's from a similar play as that one where giannis tries to bull doze them but they survive it and met him either at the rim or before he can even get off the ground. But it's rare and will be with Wemby as well. And that's the problem with giannis he over does it with the shaq act and eventually gets blocked by rim protectors. And yes it has happened more than once with all the guys I mentioned.

Sure he did what he does and he did it well but Wemby was incredible on both sides of the ball and he is doing this as a rookie. When Wemby is Vassel age he would legit be in MVP talks by then.

He’s the same age now as Shaq was when he came in and one year younger than MJ. MJ averaged 28 as a rookie, I think Wemby could do that by the time he’s 21 for sure

@@raphaelvaughnmonforte5848 It’s not hard for a guy like MJ to average 28 when Doug Collins (his first coach) ran the entire offence through feeding him the ball, no one else on the team got touches, and they got swept twice back to back by Bird/Celtics in the first round. Phil Jackson came in and changed the entire culture with triangle offence, that’s when then bulls started winning. A Doug Collins type of situation would never happen at San Antonio, Popp doesn’t allow hero ball.

What a game! Everyone thinking it will be lopsided but Wemby and spurs keeps fighting back and had the lead at some point. Fans loving this kind of games!

This was amazing.

The Kid loves 🏀 man. He's clutch and not scared. He needs experienced people as teammates, not children who believe they're way better than they actually are, and are still trying to make a name for themselves that will never come. Just in case you hadn't noticed, nobody cares about watching you 🏀. We came to see Victor!

Anteto es un jugador prácticamente desarrollado en su plenitud, una bestia. Wemba recién está empezando mostrando con esa edad, el nivel para jugar de igual a igual contra un jugador como Anteto. Pero hemos visto un lindo duelo. Superior Giannis por el momento.

That Giannis spin dunk might be unguardable, what a move! And Wemby is already one of the most creative scorers I've ever seen at his size. I can't wait for matchup again, really brought out the best in each other.

Giannis is freakishly athletic & willfully dominate + an ever increasing Game I.Q & Wemby is just a different type of freak in that same aspect but still fresh in the league so all he has to do is stay Healthy/No major injury & will be the Top freak/best in the laegue 3-4 more seasons..rings & MVP trophies but until then its Gia-time/Era
