When I was 10 this game turned me into an NES Controller durability tester. I learned that the controllers can withstand tremendous impact while being swung violently by their cords and smacking the floor with them 'em.

As a retro gamer who loves that speed running keeps a lot of old titles relevant, I love every Arcus does. Further, I want to share this hobby with my kids and I LOVE that I can count on Arcus to not make jokes or use language that requires me to tell them not to repeat that. Thank you for what you do here.

That music gives me PTSD…. We had this game when we got an NES on Christmas morning and …. Well most of you already know. Thank goodness we got Kid Icarus and Zelda shortly after.

Haha 100% this game was rough back in the day. We didn't have KZread helping us. I got to the 3rd stage and that was it. I was only 8. Lol

Beating this game is an accomplishment in itself. Beating it in 10 minutes is unreal.

One of my favorite NES games. Notoriously difficult.

does that really matter? you can get better at a game just by grinding , i just said i like how he plays NG, thats it.

One of the few games from my youth that I never beat, even got close a few times. Major props!

Speedrun of a game most couldn't get past the 1st level on. Love it.

Watching someone do this holds my seven year old self in awe.

I remember playing for hours and not beating it yet. This game series has got to be one of the most difficult ever.

Ghost N' Goblins on Legend difficulty on the Switch is insanely difficult!!

Wow, super impressive. Mind blown by accepting and keeping the flame. Much respect for the amount of time it takes to make even the hardest games into something laughable.

This is one of the rare games that is incredibly frustratingly difficult and very few people can beat, but yet a fun and classic game. Battletoads is another one that comes to mind.

One of the hardest games I’ve ever played as a kid. Never passed the first level.

The fact that this dude who is a professional speed runner still had issues playing through this tells you all you need to know about how difficult this freaking game was. The creators made that last level just to drive us insane. Thank God for the glitches

I bet this game a few weeks ago and I think I'm forever going to have some mild PTSD from it.

Back in the day, it took me two years to beat this game, and I was only able to beat it once. I played it recently, and I can't even finish the first stage. Same with Adventure Island. Games we're so hard back then 😉.

I had no idea there were more levels. Because I could never make it that far. 😥

The "sad part" about this game, is how many kids that got this game to their NES, and didnt understand that it was a hardcore game beyond anything else. Such a waste of money for most people, getting this game where most people cant even finish the first level.

I hated this game as a kid, yet I kept playing it. It was one of those games that the developers made way too hard, especially for us little kids in the 80s.

It's funny, in the 1st level there are those 3 flying knights (or whatever they are) and you never see them again.
