I found your comment, started reading it, Matt or Andrew said this EXACTLY as I started reading.

At the beginning when they were saying about hiring someone to be an asshole it got me thinking. How cool would it be if someone did like a ghost hunting experience a bit like an escape room. Like they had air conditioning and speakers etc in each room and depending on where the "ghost" you're supposed to find is meant to be they made the room colder or whatever.... I would totally pay for that, real life phasmophobia

Despite the technical obstacles to doing this, the fact is, this wouldn't work as well as you think, because Escape Rooms are much more of a puzzle, while these "Ghost Hunts" are more of a kind of detective work. Combining them would cause one aspect to cancel the other aspect out.

@@Wasserkaktus how restrictive is your definition of a puzzle? escape rooms have evolved immensely--especially since the lockdown would've tanked their business if they hadn't adapted--and the sub-genres are probably branching out like any other creative outlet. OP suggested a very plausible escape room but, depending on their progress, the price will vary (probably like a couple hundred per-person versus however much they'd charge for a personal creation from almost scratch).

@@natenatenate10 How the fuck are you not getting this? A real life Phasmophobia "Ghost Hunt" would be the most awesome haunted house you could ever have. But that does NOT change the fact that it isn't an escape room, because an escape room is a puzzle by definition. Escape room =/= haunted house, and puzzle =/= detective work.

I was duo hunting a ghost with the name Mark. I did awful "That's gonna leave a mark" jokes everytime it did something with evidence, and also did several The Room quotes. Mark was a phantom and killed me after I was joking about him for 8 minutes straight in the basement.

It's fascinating how repeating a randomly generated ghost's name like 100 times makes it start to sound like a meme.

Kinda wish there was Twitch integration with Phasmaphobia so that the ghosts had the usernames of random audience members. I’d love to hear the gang just absolutely roasting some random dude in chat as legitimate gameplay
