Thank you for your vids. I’m pretty much housebound due to illness and the closeups you got make me feel like I’m almost there, haha. I’m not used to the whole white suit hat look but when I watched this and Year Zero I had a smile on my face the whole time. I LOVE the red get up and the sparkly grucifix. The lighting and backdrop of this is amazing.

Artemisia J you can tell he is nervous. this had to be very stressful, yet exciting, for him. changing lineups, new character, new songs, new stage lots to go wrong. overall very impressed with the first show.

I was there as well as in Los Angeles last month. Both great shows but LA was better.

Does anybody know who the actual lead guitarist is (with the white guitar)? He is incredible! Also is it true that Tobias writes and records all the guitar, bass, keyboard, etc.?

Scott Noll That is Per “Sodomizer” Eriksson! He was in Bloodbath and Katatonia, and he was actually Ghost’s bassist last year. Yes, he does. He recorded everything minus the drums in Opus, but I’m not sure about the subsequent albums.

This tour. TF also added one extra keyboard player. They are now 8 on stage. 9 if you count Papa Nihil on sax in one song ;)

Justin Barbour Nope. Both lady ghouls are keyboard and backup vocals. The bass player is male again.

Justin Barbour No. There hasn’t been a female bass player since 2016. Last year’s bass player was a guy, and he switched over to playing lead guitar this year. There are actually two female Ghouls on the keys!

From what I can gather - Yeah man. I'd saw that video of them all getting out of the Limo before hand a 'male mask' definately had breasts and a slim-fit top on too, seeing this video too, I'd say so yeah. Obviously wouldn't say 100%, it's Ghost after all. I'm 99% sure though. They're wearing masks and it could be a cross dresser for all I know.

PAT No. Black Guitar is still the same, White guitar is last year’s bassist. I don’t know if the drummer is the same from last year, but the ones that are definitely new are the bassist, the two female keyboard players, and a third guitarist/multi instrumentalist/backup singer.

I don't understand, do these guys just rotate new members? If so, doesn't that bother anybody? For all anybody knows, the whole band could be different people on each album and each tour. Isn't that sort of a turn off? Or since they all wear masks, it doesn't matter? If someone could please explain this, that would be great. Thanks.

Ghost has been a massive assortment of musicians from it's inception. It only had 2 consistent members from 2006-2016. Now only one. According to him, the band has undergone more than 10 lineup changes. Some musicians that have recorded have never played live, and some that have played live have never been featured on a recording. That's part of Ghost's 'schtick'.

Thanks for somewhat explaining. What is going on with the singer? From what I've read it's pretty much a solo project with current past members trying to sue this Tobias guy because he's screwing them out of royalties since he claims it's a solo project. That situation sucks. So all the singers since the band started is this same guy, Tobias Forge, even though he goes by different names and looks?

Okay, so I don't have all the answers, but I'll give you a little of my perspective. It sounds like both sides were a little wrong, but from what I can tell the side suing is more wrong. The claim is that Tobias didn't pay them properly, which could be true, or just an accounting error. But they claim that Ghost is a band and not a solo project. The problem with that is, in court, all the documentation about those suing and their involvment with the band show that most of the ones suing have only been in the band a couple years. With one notable exception. Also, that second founding member I mentioned...he left the band right before the ones suing did, but he's not part of the lawsuit. Even more damning to their case, the vast majority of writing credits, musically and lyrically, have been shown in court to be Tobias. Some of the writing credits that aren't him, are people that aren't even the ones suing. so there is a lot of grey area. But I think Tobias messed up, maybe a bit ethically, but at least clerically. However, the other guys for the most part are trying to get a bigger piece of the pie than originally entitled to. As far as all the singers go...yes, they're played by Tobias. Papa Emeritus I, Papa Emeritus II, and Papa Emeritus III are all brothers. Papa I was asked to resign because of his age, Papa II was kicked out because he didn't get a long with others and refused to do interviews in english. Papa III wasn't spreading the unholy gospel well enough, so Papa Nihil, their father, kicked him out and made Cardinal Copia the new Papa Elect. But he has to prove himself first, so on this tour, Papa Nihil is observing him. Hope that helps.

I guess my main question this whole time has been if the singers have all really been the same guy all along because even though I would read he was, I still questioned it because he looked so different and much older during a couple of those Papa's. But that's pretty cool. These guys aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but I've always wondered what the story was with the singer and it's a pretty cool thing he's got going. Thanks for explaining. And I guess that's the main thing that would suck about being a "nameless ghoul", the fact you can be replaced immediately and nobody cares because nobody knows anyway.

Well, you're partly right. It sucked for the ones suing, but the vast majority of Nameless Ghouls have joined on a temporary basis BECAUSE they wanted that anonimity and freedom to come in for a short time. You may not know this but Dave Grohl from Nirvana/Foo Fighters has actually been a nameless ghoul before. He produced an LP for them and played guitar on one track and drums on another. He's also performed live at severasl shows, though no one knows which ones and what instrument he played on stage. Also, tons of past members have come from Scandanavian black metal bands that have toured with some of the regular Ghost members in the past...such as Watain and Bathory. In fact, I believe Bathory's drummer is the current drummer of Ghost. And last year when I saw them live, Ghost had a female bass player. She was from the band Lez Zeppelin, a female Led Zeppelin cover band.

The first album was him(guitars,keyboards,singing) a studio bassist and a studio drummer. Literally the first album was more of a Tobias solo project then what came after. I literally hate you because of this ignorant statement.

6 ghouls on stage?? For a guy that "couldn't" pay 5 because the band wasn't making ANY profit. Somehow the math just doesn't add up.

The girls on keys should be nuns for two reasons : 1. It would look cool as hell. 2. Tubby ghouls does'nt work.

That's right goddammit. From more than 10 rows back their ghoul masks just look like balls of aluminum foil. Sisters (nuns) would be awesome especially when she is back there shaking a tambourine. My "tubby" description is completely a reaction to the aesthetic of the ghoul outfit, not to the woman wearing it.
