Well that is the absurdities of tech nerds. They are never happy unless their rig is hitting top numbers and settings. Gamers enjoy boasting as well. Nevermind enjoying the game itself. Sad, but true.

​@@evanpaluch6190last generation I skipped buying a pc cause mine was behaving alright and went with a PS4, can confirm that it's nice to just load up a God damn game, play it and that's it, no tweaking around no finding what is causing a certain problem etc etc. Moved back to pc this generation cause it was impossible to get a PS5 during COVID. Don't regret it though have had my laptop for 2 or 3 years and Im still playing everything with high settings. By my estimates in another 3-4 years i'll still be able to play shit at lower settings. And by the time I can't play demanding games on pc I'll be to old for that anyways.

That settings impact page is something DF doesn't do but it really helps to know which settings carries the most weight.

The LOD on VH doesn't extent grass any further but it does affect far trees and their shadows I believe so its still has some value

This game is so well optimized. I have a 5 5600x and a 3060 and I can play it with EVERYTHING at Ultra with stable FPS. It's amazing.

High with Dlaa is the best graphic combo for this game

Why SSAO ambient occlusion instead of HBAO+ or GTAO?

This is such a greatly optimized game. They even managed to make low settings look decent.

The volumetric fog at max is why the ground was so unrealistically shiny, that's weird.

Agreed, I play on medium on basically everything except texture related stuff, that's on highest, and low on volumetrics, and i never had a problem with thinking "eh, this game aint beautiful enough".

FSR 3 Performance Medium Settings. I got 144fps on my RTX 2050 on my 144hz monitor. That's the best setting, and the game is still good-looking.

Ssao looks better, it adds more darkness around bushes & other stuff, overall it complements the game visuals

LOD setting has the same impact as in Witcher 3, eats more than 20fps for a minor upgrade in visual quality, no brainer on high

LOD is CPU intensive settings basically in any games. It's worth it just like wide FOV, textures if you hate LOD pop ins. But anyway the shadow draw distance in this game also very obvious so it dozen matter to lower it down. 🤷‍♀

2024 games, medium setting is more than enough..

i play in very high mode, with dlss quality, no upscaling, 21:9 with 80 ~ 90 fps, my gpu is rtx 3060 12gb 32gb of ram and ryzen 7 5700x =D

just high on all games, you dont need to burn juice for things you cant see

Probably because he has a 3060 Ti which has only 8GB of VRAM, so when he enables ultra textures either textures or shadows get dynamically downgraded without warning

fsr 3 native aa + frame gen is the best.

IKR same with Forbidden West. Something is broken with VRAM utilization. It spills to system RAM way too fast.

bandwidth issue, what is your GPU and PCIe generation? Many low end cards these days only have x8 electrical wiring for the PCIe connector (even if it's physically x16 long) so if you put one of them in a PCIe 3.0 slot you're getting kneecapped, for example 3050, 3060, 4060, 4060 Ti, RX 6400, 6500, 6600, 6600 XT. These cards also have extremely low bus width (number of memory packages) so the problem gets even more aggravated. Intel ARC also has problems with similar symptoms on platforms without ReBAR support, or where the user hasn't enabled it.

@@chunchunmaruwaijeblevid9425 oh yeah that's simply because 6GB isn't enough. It's swapping from system memory. Readouts of what your GPU is "using" in terms of VRAM only shows what's loaded into VRAM. Not what it WANTS to load into VRAM

Even after watching so many videos i still cant see the difference in Water Caustics even in the game. Does anyone know what does it actually do?🥲

If you watch closely at full brightness you'll notice some lines & slightly clear water, KZread compression makes it difficult to see.

Don't focus on the water nearest shore or the deepest water, the difference is noticeable in the medium-depth water
