he's shaking his head because he is shifting his weight with his movement while bending his body forward, basically it's a way to keep balance while running. It also has it's uses in a fight if you run toward someone they anticipate a strike from the side your body is shifting onto so it acts almost unpredictably, although that's more of a side effect rather it is almost purely for the balance during a front leaning run

I think it may have to do we impact and inertia of movement to keep balanced while going at such a speed, OR it may have to do with spotting enemies OR possibly aerodynamics. Most mammals keep their ears back while running to keep from damaging their hearing, and since we’re blessed with flat ears against our heads that isn’t very much of a problem… unless you’re in the wind where you can’t pull your ears back to keep them from getting that “WOOSH WOOSH” if u know what I mean. So moving your head while sprinting like that may possibly just be for realism. Using the head as basically a shield to keep wind from entering the ears as a replacement for movable ears. My guess is just the inertia and balance of running that quick, most short distance runners do it.

Hello, I am a kendoist with about 15 years of kendo experience. I am a kendo practitioner with 15 years of kendo experience and about 8 years of Yakumaru Jigenryu kenjutsu experience. So I guess that makes me a modern day samurai in a cool way. Now, joking aside, there are three main reasons why Jin keeps his head low and shakes his head when he does a running slash. The first is to lower the center of gravity and stabilize the body axis. If you run as fast as you can in non-grippy footwear and flimsy hakama as you normally do in running, you can easily slip or get caught and stumble. By keeping the head low, they increase stability, reduce the risk of falling, and make it easier to catch a fall if one should occur. This is also where Naruto's ninja running comes from. Secondly, arrows, like bullets, kill instantly if they hit the forehead, chest, or abdomen, so by shaking the head, the body axis is shifted to prevent the arrow from hitting the center of the forehead, chest, or abdomen. Although arrows are slower than bullets, it is impossible to avoid them by shaking one's head with one's dynamic vision. Therefore, the target should be avoided by shaking the head in advance, or if it does hit, the arrow should hit the shoulder, leg, or other parts of the body where there is little chance of immediate or fatal injury. The third is to increase the power of the attack. Do you know the Japanese boxing manga "Hajime no Ippo"? The main character, Ippo, has a special move called the "Dempsey Roll. This is a technique that uses the centrifugal force caused by the swinging of the body to increase the power of a punch and strike in rapid succession. Using the same theory, he can increase the power of his blows by swinging his body wide, knocking the enemy down as hard as he can. It is a technique typical of Japanese swordsmanship that combines offense and defense in a well-balanced manner, reducing risk, minimizing damage from enemy attacks, and finishing with a single blow. The creator of these techniques must have been very studious. These are honestly wonderful.

He's GOTTA play Jin in the live action adaptation. I know the studio is going to want to cast a big name actor to play Jin, like how they got Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Pedro Pascal as Joel - but Daisuke Tsuji is too perfect of a choice because it's not often that games use the voice actor's actual face for the main character (Norman Reedus in Death Stranding is the only recent game that comes to mind). C'mon sony... he's got the look AND the voice lol.

i kinda understand how they chose someone else as joel instead of troy baker since he doesn’t really resemble joel at all but i think for the uncharted movie nolan north could have definitely done nate and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t use him or at least someone who resembles him a bit more than tom holland??? but jins face is literally daisuke tsujis face so for the movie if they don’t use him that would be such a weird choice

Idk if Daisuke has had prior training, but he moves really well with a sword, definitely a natural talent. Very cool to see!

He probably did a good number of choreography rehearsals during the making of the game. There isn't much sword play in the cutscenes, but there's some Katana actions. So I'd say he's developed some muscle memory.

He seems like a real fkn cool dude, good-natured, and humble despite the massive success of this game. I just completed it and have to say his performance was excellent and the storyline kept me hooked. Awesome video! 🤘
