They way Makarov referred to the characters by their first names, his cryptic yet creepy tone of voice throughout, the explosion at the airport and the reveal that the stadium was just a decoy was absolutely erie. Also, “Simon Riley, I expected you to stay at the airport, and die there.” He literally just admitted that the stadium wasn’t the target and he was always targeting the airport. Makarov here was closer to his original MW 2&3 iteration than the rest of the game combined. If they kept him this way throughout he’d been much more memorable.

Same. The scene was so serious but the line delivery was so good I laughed. His actor said he did it on purpose, tried to say the names as theyd sound with the accent. He did the same saying MacTavish. But its not as obvious. Just what parts you put emphesis on.

Both games use mocap suits for their character models.

Makarov didn't even flinch nor feel fear. In fact, he even provoke Soap to shoot him. Makarov is confident enough to be dead because he knows his plan will continue and being calculated many times over. Hell, he even have a plan in case he is gonna die.

It’s funny because if you watch shows like SAS Who Dares wins the former Special Forces guys sound *nothing* like TF141. Ant Middleton, Ollie Olerton, Mark Billingham and Jason Fox all sound like regular people without the gruff ‘hard intimidation’ tone.

I wish I could take modern COD characters even half seriously. They act like they already read the script and know that they're action movie heroes, they don't talk or behave like real human beings let alone disciplined and seasoned soldiers.
