The shine shot is a mode that turns off the air blowing and converts the tool into a straightener/ styler (basically heats the plates to 185°C so you can finish any unruly hard to smooth areas after you’ve used the drying mode - or just use it for touch ups in between hair washes) 👌🏽

This was a VERY good tutorial. I just ordered a duet for my birthday and wanted to watch some tutorials before using! This one is by far the best, most descriptive and informative one that I have seen so far! Thank you so much!

This was such a great video thank you for being so informative and for having legit wet hair and CURLY HAIR!!. I was having a hard time finding someone that didn’t have the company listed in their bio or super straight basically dry hair! I This was the best video, and GHB should have it on their page!!!

Awesome review. Better than the review i just watched of this girl who didn't like it that much after trying once. She complained about it taking too long. I said exactly the same thing you did, blow drying and straightening takes me over an hour with my terribly frizzy mess. It's called practice, practice,practice! You sold it for me. Your hair looks so nice! Next time you make a hair video i think you should wear a light colored shirt- i felt like it was harder to make out how long and shiny your hair turned out because it blended in with your black shirt.

It seems to be different in the fact I believe the other tool you mention is for keeping natural curls as you dry? Where as this one is for sleeker and smoother styles. But yes maybe the other May suit you more! Thanks for watching! XO

Hmm idk what to think it seems convenient. This first time it gave you a natural looking straightness which looked nice then the straightener gave you a more sleek elegant look but still masculine. I just don’t understand if it has the option to turn off the straightener or if you just blow dried with it first.

You cannot turn off the straightener however they are adaptive, so when they are in drying mode they are 120°c (safe drying heat along with the warm air too) and then when you turn the warm air off to use as a straightener the plates heat to Ghd’s regular temperature of 185°c for optimum styling! Xo

Just wondering how long it took you in the end? My hair is similar to yours and it always takes me forever to blowdry and straighten my hair.

It literally took me around half an hour, it was much quicker than if I had dried and then straightened it! XO

How hot is the platewhile its blowdrying? I know its a NO NO to iron wet hair

Yes it’s a combination of the plates and the air at the same time, I trust ghd as they have their own laboratory and scientists developing and doing so much testing! But let me tell you as a hair stylist the thought of hot plates on wet hair freaked me out, but the results speak for themselves 🤭 xo

It’s drying and styling at the same time, if you don’t feel you would benefit that’s all good, it really suits my hair. I’m a pro hairstylist and it takes me one hour to blow dry and straighten separately where as this cut that time in half! So for me - that’s the hype 👍🏽 😅

Ok, so the impression of the Ghd video confirmed: it’s super super super sleek. I don’t know what to think of that. I’d say it’s definitely not for everyone. I’d look kinda strange with such pin straight hair.

You can use the shine shot mode to style the hair into waves but ultimately it is more of a smoothing product xo

It’s very different in the respect steam pod is designed to use on dry hair to smooth it out or style not to dry from towel dried, so it’s got that extra function! XO

Wow. For $380 I would spend the extra and get the Dyson Airstrait. It doesn’t have any hot plates

actually, it does have plates... the whole inside are plates and it all gets verrrry hot... enough to burn your neck

I also have the ghd Duet Style. I have very very very frizzy wavy hairs and my results are not as good as yours 😢

Try making sure you hold the root for four seconds and pass the tool through slowly, also make sure you have good tension in the section of hair you’re holding 😀 xo
