Gettysburg Remembrance Day Parade 2022

Grand Army of the Republic Remembrance Day is the event originally set to celebrate the service and memory of the Union Soldiers who gave loyal service in the American Civil War. As years went by, the annual remembrance has come to include a remembrance of all who served their respective causes in the culmination of the great argument over how our Nation would be defined. Every November the Sons of Veterans Reserve, the Military Branch of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, carries on the work of operating the annual Remembrance Day Parade in the Pennsylvania town of Gettysburg. This town and surrounding farms were the site of the greatest single battle of the American Civil War. It is also considered the turning point of the war that began the slow road to ultimate Union victory. A victory that not only affirmed a strong Federal Government, but ensured the elimination of Human Slavery in the United States. Every year thousands of re-enactors travel to Gettysburg to march in this unique parade. We hope you will be able to join us for the experience of Remembrance Day in Gettysburg. However, until then, enjoy our video of the parade filmed at the very beginning of the parade route.
