I find it inspirational when people are honest about their ups and downs, and don't just pretend that everything is perfect in their lives all the time. So thank you for that 😊

Meghan, I laughed when I saw this title because you are SO together already compared to the average bear. You are probably exhausted and still dealing with hormones, but you are putting out videos, eating healthy, making foods for gatherings, losing inches each video, and raising three HAPPY, smiling, beautiful children. You are even working on self improvement despite all that. I am charging you to write a note every night in a journal: What did Meghan do right today? Think it will be a lot more than you think. In this video, you got the kids out of the house for a ride and trip to McDonald's which is a real treat for them even if you think it is a break for you. This means at some point you got three kids dressed and clean and yourself as well. Your house looks clean so at some point you or your elves picked up. You made healthy meals. You played with your kids and took them for a bike ride/walk. You set up a system for your youtube and you read to the kids before they went to bed or nap time. You made sure Miller got some sun during his nap and you potted some plants. There are so many people who would like to do half of what you did.

From a mom whose children are grown , trust me when I say the season you are in now is so important. Your children will consume so much of your day but when you look back you will realize all the things you felt were being neglected didn’t matter. The projects can wait. Your little ones will be grown in a blink of the eye. Give yourself grace. If you get 20 minutes to focus on a project that is a win not a missed opportunity. We had 7 kids and trust me I know that overwhelmed feeling but focus on what’s most important. You can’t get those moments back from the babies being small. Projects can wait.

My husband and I do our finances together. We have a calendar in Excel, in which each expense is noted on its due date. We print the calendar in booklet form so each month is a 2-page spread. We deposit our checks into a savings account, then once weekly, have a budget meeting. The first part of the meeting is simply going over our checking account online to verify the items paid the week before have cleared. Then we determine which expenses need to be paid in the next week and transfer that amount into our checking account. Lastly, we make payments for those items. The weekly budget meeting typically lasts 15-30 minutes. We have tried several things over the 38+ years of our marriage, but this has been the best method for us. Having that calendar with the expenses listed, has made budgeting so easy.

Megan, it is a HUGE adjustment from two to three kids, and then again from three to four (for me). You are doing great! It’s been a very difficult shift for me and something that I still struggle with my need to check things off of a box or follow a schedule, when simply, there isn’t enough time if your priorities are in the right place. Devotions/prayer, food, laundry, dishes, and time spent with children and husband… if you are doing those things, count yourself successful!

I needed this. I'm post-holiday blues. I find the holidays absolutely exhausting. Our family is huge and spoils my daughter with toys. It's endless. We can't move in my house. I just want to sleep all day. It doesn't help that I lost my job 5 months ago (outsourced overseas) and my husband has been home with the virus all week, my daughter can't go to school because of it school is demanding that she gets a flu shot. I can't get motivated to do anything. My house is so small and we don't even have closets. I'm just so down, not a good way to start the new year.

Hi Megan. I have never commented before, but I just wanted to say you are doing great! I have 5, and the more I have the longer I find it takes to get everything back to a "normal" routine. And sometimes what was normal routine before changes as you get more or have other responsibilities and as your children grow. After my last one (he is now 19 months) I still don't feel like I have it all together, there are many days when I wish I could keep my house more tidy and get more cleaning done, but I'm trying to accept that all I need to do is my best and that's good enough. My husband keeps telling me that taking care of 5 kids that are high energy and all want there time and attention and making a healthy meal is already accomplishing a lot of that is all the time I have. I really enjoy watching your you tube videos. In so many ways we have very similar values even though I am not Mennonite, in other ways we are even more conservative than you, so I find that I have really enjoyed watching you as you go through the changing seasons in life...makes me wonder what I looked like when I had 3 2 1/2 and under, and then later 4 5 and under...just writing it looks overwhelming :). Between my last 2 I had an almost 3 1/2 year break. After having my other ones so close, it made the 3 1/2 years seem like a long time so who knows, maybe the next one will be closer again!

Wow I need your secrets girl! I have 4 kids they all woke in the night until 18 months and my 9 month old is still waking 4 times a night to nurse.🤦‍♀️ I really needed this video. I truly feel like I have been running in circles lately. Life is hard no matter what we can either keep trying with a good attitude and happy heart or throw in the towel and just be a grump. Life is what you make it most the time! Thank you for your positive attitude.😊♥️

You are so blessed to have Josh helping you out. Yes, he's a parent, too, but the way he helps without saying anything and pitching in as you both adjust to your new reality of THREE kiddos really speaks to his character and his mentality as a partner.

Our household is also all recovering from colds right now. It was so stressful after the holidays and feeling like my to dos are piling on. I totally get it. I'm pregnant and have a toddler still nursing. Soo exhausted and tired. But it's all for the glory of God! I tell ya. It's what gets us sisters through the hard times 🙌

I have dyscalculia, a learning disability that is similar to dyslexia, but it's centered around numbers. At the age of 56 I cannot add or subtract easily, and I'm never confident in my answers -- so, my amazing sister handles all of my finances. There are times when recognizing your weaknesses is okay, and for me this causes so much less stress than messing up my checkbook monthly!

Thanks for showing us the real you! Life can be hard and crazy at times, but it's all worth it in the end. I do our bookkeeping for our auto repair shop and it is definitely something that needs strict attention or else you will miss all of the tax deductions. I don't love the task, but I'm glad that I can do it to keep our employment costs down.

I love when you upload! A day in the life is even better! I love your little family and I love seeing how other families do things. Id love to know though, how you manage to keep the two older kiddos busy while you're doing things that need to get done? I think that's my biggest struggle, definitely time management and keeping children busy so I can go off and get things done. ❤❤

My kids would play by themselves all day! They are close in age and come up with all kinds of crazy things to do. I am super blessed in this way! Between dressing up, audio books, magnatiles, puzzles, and their imaginations, they stay busy! Plus I do give them chores here and there too.

Great video once again! I always look forward to your videos! Fun fact: did you know that not all cacti grow in warm dry conditions as you explained to the kids when reading? There are some cacti that grow in cold desert climates not just hot desert climates. It's just something I learned in grade 2 and in high school horticulture class here in Canada and has stuck with me. I just wanted to also encourage you that it's ok to have times where we're a bit more emotional and just let it out during those times then we can pick ourselves back up and refresh after that. We understand that hormones are still trying to balance out yet, you're only 2 months out and it can take approx 6 months for that to happen.

I really relate to this video. I just had a baby at the end of Nov and also live in Pa. The weather is horrible and you feel stuck inside a lot. With everything going on with covid I don't really like taking newborns and 5 yr out. I give you props for getting everyone into the car and going places. It's a circus when we go places and I have my husbands help. I really enjoy your videos.
