I’m a middle aged, black woman with an empty nest and a stressful career. That doesn’t sound like we’d have much in common but I watch your channel because I love your heart for God. I like how that shines through all that you do. I think it’s fantastic that you and hubs are so attracted to each other. It’s so wholesome and most people think Christians are dull that way. Also, I am a glass 1/2 empty kind of person too & I’ve learned it isn’t necessarily a flaw and it takes both cautious wisdom and energetic hope to successfully complete most things in life. You and Josh are a good team in that sense.

I’m 60 years old with four adult children and two grandkids. I love how you interact with your kids and husband. It’s been a long time since I have had little ones but I have learned a lot from you. You are never too old to learn something new. I also have recently started a read the Bible in chronological order program in one year. I love it! 😀 It is hard to find time to spend with your husband when you have a bunch of little ones, but it is important. I think husbands feel left out, especially when you have a newborn. You are right that you are not just lovers, but friends too. We went through something similar when our kids were really little. We made it through, we have been married 38 years, but I learned to accept him with all his quirks. I’m a neat and a clean freak and a little mess doesn’t bother him. I learned to focus on the things I love about him and not the things I don’t. I learned to let things go instead of nagging. I want to always lift him up and not tear him down. 😀❤️🙏🏻.I have been praying even more for him and I would never want to grow old with anyone else. You sound like you are on track to a deeper relationship and that’s awesome

What I've learned after 32 years of marriage (and counting). ..it is how you get thru the difficult times that define your marriage. Divorce rate 50%. Divorce rate of couples with a special needs/handicapped child is almost 90%. Divorce rate after loss of a child is also above average. we made it thru all of this, and are still together. Not always easy, or fun. We chose to stay together, we chose to be there for each other. And we still make that choice every day. I think I would use the little magazine rack for your devotional books. Happy New Year!

We love road trips! A couple of summers ago we mapped out a route through the southeast part of our state of State Parks. We spent 2 nights along the way. It was great! And my children (then 18, 16, 14 and 8) got to learn/experience our own state. We went to 4 parks and a national forest.
