I'm not a mom, and grew up in an abusive home and have a hard time being feminine or homemaking. I honestly haven't even ever dated. But videos like this help me feel like with God's grace I _can_ if it glorifies Him. Thank you for sharing your heart!

Dang girl, I thought I was the only one from an abusive home. I am in my 50's and don't date either. I do go to Celebrate Recovery and it helps a lot ...you eventually get to share your story with others on testimony night. If you haven't heard of them, they are really fun. Hugs to you. Hang in there.

My culture has taught me that you have to have lots of babies to be fulfilled. But after 2 kids I felt the pressure to have the 3rd. But as I sat down and thought about myself and mental health I chose to not have more littles. I want my kids to have the best of me possible. I think it’s not talked about enough that it’s okay to not push yourself to have kids just cuz that’s what you do.

When we were growing up, our parents shielded us from the "hard stuff." It wasn't until we were adults that we discovered that we were at or below the poverty line, that Mom had cancer after I was born, and other things. We were encouraged to be kids and were not burdened with "adult" things. Our parents never apologized to us; they were never "vulnerable" with us. They were the parents, we were the kids. We learned about relationships by watching our parents interact with each other, and us kids had to learn how to get along by interacting with each other and working out our own problems among us. Now I look back and I'm so grateful that we were kept from having to grow up too soon, that we could just be kids and not have to take on adult issues. I know I'm from a different generation. lol.

In some ways I agree with you. I am also from an older generation. However, there were periods in our life when things got rough and we, children, witnessed our parents struggle. The hardest time for me was seeing my dad cry. I don't think there ever was a time when my parents apologized to me (or us kids) for any reason. That's ok. They were pretty high up there in my estimation and I probably would have fainted. Lol... But I knew my mother was fragile at times. I knew my dad struggled at times. But we were family and we stuck together and I never doubted for a minute that we wouldn't pull through together.

I just had cancer and didn’t tell my daughter who is 8 bc I knew we would get passed it - but she knew I had surgery and that mommy needed help with things - so I was vulnerable without sharing information that wasn’t age appropriate or that she couldn’t process yet. I think a balance so they know when they get older that we all go through hard times but there’s a line

@@emlevy5792 My mom had a cancer when I was 7 and my sister 14. For my sister it was harder because she already knew cancer was dangerous and she could understand when my mother wasn't well because of the chimio, but for me I was just glad my mom was home. My parents told me "Mom is sick, it's a very complicated thing, she need to have surgery and take medicine. She's gonna loose her hair and she's not gonna work for some times." I remember once she forgot to put her wig to come pick me at school, one of my classmate made fun off her and I kicked his butt 🤣🤣🤣

This is such an inspirational video Megan!! ❤My now ex-husband, asked for a divorce almost 4 years ago, and I have been grieving that loss and torturing myself with the “what ifs?” Over the last 2-3 years your positivity and looking to God for guidance and strength has helped monumentally!! I am finally ready to move on and to see what God has in store for me 🙏🏻 It’s time to create “MY OWN” vision board for 2023 and to take charge of my life!! I can’t thank you (and Lynette Yoder, too!) enough for your positive vibes on the daily…God bless and have a happy and healthy new year! 🎉❤🙏🏻

I loved this video. We are in our late 30s, and my husband and I have been through many of the same things you and your husband have been through. I've never made a vision board for the year (I also used to be a teacher and lists were my jam), but I feel really inspired now to do something more visual that I can reference all year (instead of shoving in a drawer). I really appreciated your tip for making the vision board phone-friendly. And while my religious beliefs are different (I'm a traditional Roman Catholic), your love of Our Lord is beautiful and contagious. Thank you for all of your content!

Great video Megan. When we were raising our two sons we always allowed them to have friends over to the house, sleep overs at our house etc. When they were teenagers we invited all the boys over on football Saturdays, we fed them, etc. It was a ton of work (I worked full time outside the home so Saturdays were my life) but I was always glad to have their friends over and tons of kids came in and out of our home. I miss the dozens of large size shoes at the front door. Now our sons are grown with wives and families of their own. They too love to entertain and have friends over so I think they got that from their growing up. God gave us two great sons and blessed us so well. We had very little issues with them because we were a very open, communicative type of family. I believe we had a haven home. To this day we have lived in our home for 36 years; over time we have updated, changed etc. Our sons always tell us, please don't sell our childhood home...we love it! God is very present in our home, in every room with reminders of Him all throughout our home. Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and ideas!

I’m also 30 (turned in September) as I’ve gone over my goals and ambitions this year I’m also feeling that “not sure what to make as a goal” type of feeling. I think it’s bc we’re probably subconsciously happy with who we’ve become and now it’s just about tweaking little things and not necessarily building from the ground up like it has been in the past.

Megan, I love your videos and content. I did find this one particularly inspirational. I am a mother of 3 (18,18 & 25). I turned 50 a week ago so I am in a different season of life but what I can say is things included in my goals for 2023 are to keep a monthly date night with my husband of 30 yrs. My word for 2023 is HOPE. Showing vulnerability to our children and showing how we worked through things, promoted resilience in our children, but we have always been careful not to burden their hearts. My husband and I have used a scoring system to break down walls and facilitate those vulnerable conversations. Score each of the following with marks out of 10 …. How are you? How are we? You to the kids? You to home? You to work? This acts as a common denominator between his masculine brain and my autistic, hyper vigilant brain and we spring board the conversation from there. This method has seen us through good times and bad, hard times and relaxed times. All of these things have helped make a haven for our family so they can feel safe enough to go and come back. Happy new year and best wishes for 2023 😊

Kindness. Absolutely so hard to do with the ones we love the most. I needed this reminder too. I almost feel like I can't say "I love you" to my husband or children because I am so often none of the qualities that love is; patient, kind, gentle, self-controlled, not rude or arrogant, it does not insist on its own way. Love is to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endures all things.

Ooh, I think I heard about this on Jar of Fireflies, which is the other KZreadr I watch. I forgot. I am going to ask her if she will share more on it. That is so cool. I thought she was just doing it once but didn't realize it was a thing. Cool.

I've just created my first vision board, thank you for sharing, I found it really hard to come up with a word of the year but I decided on Serenity in the end. Happy New year, thank you for your great videos and the work you put into them. I have chosen 'God help me to be loving, kind & forgiving towards others Ephesians 4:32 (particularly my husband as I need to work on that more, show my appreciation more) that I have added to my gratitude journal, it's good to have a daily reminder.

I've never tried a vision board before. I'm relieved. It's so much more my personality than the lists I've been trying to write out! Thanks for showing me how! I found myself nodding along wholeheartedly to so much that you shared in this video. So grateful to find an influencer who is so authentic and shares my Christian values.

My word for last year and again this year is intentional. I want to be intentional with everything I do. I fell short at some times this year, and I want to keep the intentional mindset through the next year.

Vision boards are used by witches, it is a form of sorcery. Doreen Virtue has a great video about why we should not use them.

I appreciate your openness so much! Beautiful video 💗 my husband and I use the Creighton method for fertility tracking and out of trying several it is our favorite and amazing in accuracy! My cycle is so unique that it is the only method that actually works for me. I don't know if I would have found it if I hadn't needed it but now that I have I think it is the most amazing in beautifully understanding your body and also unifying your marriage in unique and special ways💗

I really appreciate your thoughts on your marriage - I think that is something I need to prioritize this year as I’ve been pregnant and pretty miserable for months now. I started reading a book this year called Seven Principles For Making Marriage Work (still not finished) but it’s really left an impression on me in that the premise is that the strongest relationships are based on a mutual genuine friendship, which means making memories and having deep conversations. It’s definitely written from a secular perspective but it had a lot of great practice exercises. I actually listened to the audiobook with my husband on a road trip and that was huge, that I wasn’t just telling him what to do but we were learning together. I want to make room to do more of that together this year (God willing with a newborn and 3 year old 😅)

I saw your IG this morning. Had decided to order your planner, but didn't jump on it and now they are out of stock. 🙁 I've just ordered a more complicated one, so I'll see how that works. I'll be on the lookout if you decide to restock planners towards the end of 2023! Best wishes for 2023 to you and your family, and I look forward to your videos in 2023.

Haven, that’s interesting. The first thing I thought of was my scripture portion for 2023 which is Psalm 23. Making your home a haven is awesome, your kids will appreciate that in the long run.

My husband left his job of 8.5 years this summer~ it was so stressful for me!! I supported and encouraged him but secretly it was so stressful, because change is hard. I wasn’t sure how the oncall would be, flexibility for family needs/emergencies, insurance, ect… It’s been 5 months and I am so thankful he has this new job! God has answered so many things from it and looking back I can see His hand in it all. I will pray for Josh and his decision.

Love that you use your voice and platform to share how important God is to you and how much He loves you. Your personal testimony is worth more than you will know, You have an audience most of us will never have to share God's love for the all the nations. And thanks to this video, my daughter (12) and I both got on canva and made vision boards for the very first time! Thanks for the idea and encouragement to make goals. I also made a "word" for the very first time! Every video always inspires and motivates me to be a better wife and mother. Thank you!
