With the bushings. I found that it is just the geometry of the trucks that break bushings. I bought some royal trucks. Which are kinda like a mid point between thunders and ventures. I've had them for half a year skating in the winter here in colorado and the bushings haven't broke. I do a lot of back and front crooks too. I really like how they feel so far. I skate the white Indie softs! I used to skate the indie stocks. But I liked my trucks loose to the point of wobbling so I had to get my truck nut just barely finger tight to get the right feel but then the nuts would always fall off. The softs feel great right out of the box and I can actually get the same turning feel I used to while sufficiently tightening them, so my trucks no longer wobble and I can pop my tricks much more stably but the turning response feels like it used to when I'd let em wobble. Never skating another bushing.

Completely out there suggestion but you could check out forged hollow Indy mids. The height is close to a Thunder, the difference in weight isn't too noticeable, and there are more bushing options that work with the geometry. The turning is more consistent throughout the lean compared to Thunders where you squirrel out if you lean too hard and too fast.

I skate thunder bushings. First stock and then I replace them with the mediums I think when they blow. What I don't like about them is that they are so impacted by temperature. In winter it's like skating with super hard trucks and in summer other people can't even ride around on my board because they're so loose ... haven't really experimented with bushings but thats the only part of my setup that could be improved to my liking ...

I never got accustom to skating stairs honestly, Ive told the story of my inward heel down a 5 set on some bleachers, and that was like my best trick ever, which i mean come on its gnarly. Then i think i ollied an 7 or 8, and said naaa aint for me. But recently ive found alot of appreciation in long gaps, boned tricks, and more technical riding. I know the fact that there is a style to the trick is always considered but lately just the heater polarizer vibes are in full effect. Also the Use the stick as a tool for more trick is a genius way to put it, but the dexterity is wild hard. Also Fellow East Coast boy, might sound stupid af, but we used to soak your bushings in anti freeze. This isnt as stupid as it might sound, the science is there i just have no idea if it ever mattered, this was a thing with the guys i would longboard with, and i still use the same bushings, but they would plow the hills here and then if it got work a few of them would get beat on by the sun, throw on your snowboard gear, pad up and use a snowboard goggles etc, shit would slide and be so fun, but yea alot of guys would over night soak their wheels and bushins in anti freeze and swore by it.

Yo I highly recommend the Do Doh’s!… I’ve been skating them for years, I personally skate the med soft button and the soft top. And they work awesome for me, I also like kinda loose trucks but not rattling loose. I’ve also skated the bones softs, and basically had the same thing happen. They blew out in like four sessions…. I also live in upstate NY basically near Canada, and if it’s dry I skate in the winter months. It’s true that Do Doh’s don’t freeze and as I said I skate the softest ones. Blue is the softest then yellow, red black than I believe white is the hardest….

About two months ago I started slamming every session, like weird slams where I didn't even break my fall or roll out of it like I usually would. Then I stopped working out, and then because of work, injury or weather I was only skating once a week. Now it's been over two weeks since I've skated. Right now I'm having some kind of skate life crisis and can't decide if I should just quit or only skate flat until I feel confident again.

damn, i feel like these phases come ang go for sure though...i would just cruise take its slow and have fun with it.. once your confidence is back up then start pushing yourself again. especially if you are only skating once a week, def take it easy cause your body isnt too used to it. keep shredding! THANKS for watching !

Me being a 38 yr old, everything is a risk/reward battle going on in my head. Usually the risk of skating stairs doesn't justify the reward anymore.
