Getting lost in Ptolus? My overly long Ptolus review! Part three... - Monte Cook games

Ойындар

Ptolus: City by the Spire is an incredibly large book for both 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons as well as the Cypher System. It hosts an incredibly large amount of content for an incredibly large city. It can be hard to know how and where to start. Get it here:

The depth of this campaign setting seems just limitless.

Zobek. Perr-Bastet. Ptolus. The Free City (FateForge). Drakkenheim. Lankhmar. Balder's Gate, NeverWinter and Waterdeep. Eltobar. Sharn. Emon. Timeborne. Sigil. Whatever they are calling the city at the Diamond in the Radiant Citadel. Every DM needs to be able to run a big city and make it distinct from a small town/outpost. They will all tend to be the same with some details added that shape the people and tell you what is distinct about the world / region the city is in. For Ptolus, you have so many details but only need to start with the Delver's Square, and maybe some other basics like the port and the spire.

Just starting my journey with this book. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'm in love with what I've been reading. Such an epic setting.

Mr. Tarrasque, thank you so much for reviewing this product by Monte Cook Games. This is such an interesting city, and I am looking into purchasing a PDF or physical copy.

I love running urban campaigns, and I love Cypher System, so Ptolus is just a no-brainer. Although IMO Ptolus would work fine in a wide variety of systems.

Yeah after the Scarlet Citadel, I’m taking my players to Ptolus.

This seems less like a review and more of just showing what's in the book. A lot of information I already knew since I have the book. (But that's just me)

The plan is to have these videos lead up to a final conclusion while also helping people figure out what’s in the book.
