I’m so happy for you! And let me tell you, I started my teeth journey around the same time as you and it’s so weird going to the dentist and not having severe anxiety because I did all the bad parts. Like my brain doesn’t process that I’m just having to go for a cleaning every six months now because I was use to going at least once a month to fix something. I use to cry before my appointments because I was so scared of what they were going to do or that they were going to tell me I needed something else done. Now I go in and my dentist is super nice and we just talk about life and he tells me that my teeth are looking great and it feels so good to hear that and not hear bad news. 🥹 I’m proud of us. (Us being me, Sarah and anyone reading this) We did it. Fuck anxiety. We got this.

I am SO proud of you. Thank you for sharing, I have dental anxiety (got a tooth pulled in a clinic with no numbing, wide awake) and it has paralyzed me before. And it's something I felt ashamed of, and this has made me feel so much better.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your journey! It has really helped me cope with the anxiety I'm having. I started my journey on June 1, 2021 and about 20 hours ago I had 2 of my front teeth extracted that unfortunately couldn't be saved. I’m so happy for you Sarah, congrats on being able to finance this crazy dental journey! I feel especially excited because I’ve dealt with teeth insecurity for a long time, since one of my front teeth has been crooked and I started my Invisalign journey almost 6 months ago, I’ve started to notice so much movement and it feels so surreal. I’ve let this insecurity of mine take over my life for so long, and although I don’t expect for Invisalign to cure my depression or anything crazy like that, I do know it will continue to bring me so much inner healing and more confidence as I attend law school and go on to establish a legal career.

Thank you so much for making these series documenting your experience. I myself suffer from dental anxiety and this series is definitely calming me down. I just got my 5.. yes 5 extractions and in around 5-7 months I will be getting my implant process started for the 5 missing teeth. Thank you again for breaking down this process so I can have an idea of what to look forward to! :)

I’ve started my journey for implants. I am on day 5 of bone graft recovery. I am so happy for you and I am so happy you vlogged this. You have for sure helped others and I am so proud of you! It’s scary and expensive to do all that dental work but it’s worth it in the end. It pains me all of this is so pricey. It should be more obtainable for people. I hope some day this changes. Teeth are a big part of our lives and everyone deserves a healthy mouth and teeth!

@@mturk68 having the actually bone graft put in was fine. It was after it wasn’t fun, I was swollen for about 3 days after. I had to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks because of the stitches. It was difficult for me, just because I was so hungry haha. But after day 3 there was no more pain or swelling

I just have to thank you Sarah for these videos. I’ve rewatched your dental videos several times over the years as I’ve had to get two root canals and crowns since you originally posted this series. I just got back from the dentist who has now recommended another crown on a new tooth and all my fears were reignited so I went straight to your videos again today to help alleviate my worries. It’s wonderful to have a common experience with someone who can validate all my feelings through the process whether it be physical, mental or financially. Just wanted to express my thanks 😊

Watching your journey finally made me go to the dentist after years of not going - I have to get around 10 fillings. Only a couple are bad, most are small and I caught them at a good time, but I’m terrified! I know it won’t hurt that bad but dental anxiety makes it seem so much worse and bigger than it is, but you’ve inspired me to just go for it because health is more important 💕 gonna make the apt. Soon!

I’m soooo proud of you. This reminds me of when I had to get skin cancer surgery and I cried so much. Medical / dental stuff sucks ASS but you’re so much better off now for the future. You can do hard things & you’re finally done - yay!!!

I'm a military brat and have bad memories of dental visits, and then on top of that I didn't have good dental hygiene habits. I am going through a lot of dental repair right now, and the dental hygienist has been the sweetest, most understanding person! Wow I wish I could have had that long ago and maybe my journey could have been different. Seeing your comment touches my heart, because you are going to touch lives with your kind demeanor. Thank you for that. I think y'all make a huge difference in our lives.

Thank you so much for taking us on your journey. I suffer from dental anxiety as well as general anxiety. I hadn't been to the dentist for 30+ years. I had to go because of an abscess. I am having 2 teeth removed this week and once the gums have healed I am getting 2 implants. I am extremely nervous, but seeing someone else go through it who has the same problems as me has really helped. So thank you again. Your teeth look amazing by the way x

I just had extractions and bone grafting today. My implants go in Oct 13. Then January/February for the crowns on the posts. Seeing you eat (crunch) and smile made it already feel like this will be SO worth the journey. I really don’t have a choice, my teeth were badly broken from a fall and was needing IV antibiotics etc. Mine are visible sadly but am having a prosthetic made for interim. Thank you for sharing!!!

I just got my second 3 hour round root canal done at a dental school. My HR was 118 when I 1st sat down. Anxiety is so real. I still have a few more sessions before the 👑. Thanks for sharing Sarah!

don't wait too long if you plan on getting an implant, you lose bone in your mouth when you are missing a tooth which can alter the way your face looks bone grafting will make the procedure more expensive

you have been very inspiring to me, thanx. your case is a bit different from mine, of course you have to know I have to actually remove my front teeth in order to get my implants in and that takes a whole new spin on the emotional journey, as you can imagine, but I thank you for your video, it really helps knowing other people are or have gone thru this and that the outcome is very satisfying...

Ive just been watching your videos and I am the same as you with dentists,I had two extractions yesterday and had 3 implants put in.A little pain today but think more discomfort. So my healing process has just started (and the soft diet).Your videos are great and thanks for the info and steps through your journey.

At the time of your last update, I could barely make it through the video without panicking. But 5 months later? I’m proud to say I’m 5 crowns in to my own dental restoration process with much less daily stress because I know I’m doing what I need to do for my overall health and mental well-being. So thank you for helping to normalize how anxiety inducing these things can be! I’ve got at least 3 more years left on my journey since my next step is braces before implants, but glad to have finally started after being afraid to start for so long!

You are an amazing strong women. I just finished watching your last video and completely understand your process. I just had my extraction ( on a front tooth, can you imagine) and bone graft and I've lost sleep and had daily anxiety. I did have sedation because I have major dental phobia, that was worth the money. My implant will be $6k. I have a temp flipper tooth that didn't fit and kept falling out so was back in daily for a Wk, more stress. It stays in but doesn't fit well enough to eat but at least I have a tooth to wear in public. Your videos were very helpful and did relieve some of my anxiety so thank you. ❤

Wow I followed your dental journey and wanted to say congrats for your new smile and thank you for sharing your entire experience with us. Thanks to you I had an appointment with my dental surgeon. I need all my wisdom teeth removed but I am autistic and very scared of the dentist. He told me I need a general anesthesia because 2 of my teeth are near the nerves and If I move during the procedure, it could be dangerous.

On day 7 of my extraction and socket preservation graft of #19. I had a root canal and metal crown on it when I was little and it got an apical abscess so it had to go. I’m on this road now and wow I commend you for being able to get through this with the grace you did because this is DIFFICULT

I just had two teeth pulled back in April and when you mentioned doing things with your tongue to eat and feeling foreign objects, that's how I've felt without those teeth. It took weeks to stop feeling off.

I'm scared for my dental surgeries in the future thank you for showing such strength for the dentist I hope I can manifest such energy and strength when I go in for my future pulling of my teeth

I have been following your journey since I have a tooth that will probably need to be extracted. 😢 Any updates on how the implants have been over the last year? Complications? Cleanings? Maintenance? I get so much anxiety over the fact that I even have to get the procedure done. I took bad advice from a dentist that was recommended to me when a small piece of filling fell off the tooth. He replaced the entire silver filling with a newer porcelain filling and after a year the front of my molar broke off. I keep cycling through the 5 stages of grief over it. Your videos really made me feel better about it. I just wanted you to know that! I really appreciate you for taking the time to take us all along on your journey.
