E30’s are slow but you are driving the worse example to review. A 318i sedan with a 4 cylinder engine slammed with bags and heavy aftermarket wheels. Most likely the car has a open diff. By the way the “facelift” started in 1988 and they initially designed the e30 being as a sedan not a coupe. I love your channel but please don’t spread wrong information to people who don’t know. Oh yeah e30’s were mass produced but they are not plentiful at junkyards as you say. It is a 30 year old car.

Yeahh you got squeaky brakes, front panel screen and radio not working, car is slow, sounds like it would take off right now, aero jamming, but it looks SO GOOD

Also the reason "dirty E30" became a term is because they were used in rally cars, and that's what they called them. 318 and the 325i were totally different beasts. The 325i although not fast, was a a lot more peppy then the 318/325e and made the car lot more fun especially on curvy roads where the car excels over being a fast car, it's a momentum car.

m42 318s (like this one) have a lot to give. the "318s are boring" sentiment generally comes from m10 experience. m42 318i/s e30s aren't really that far off the performance of a 325, and the change in weight placement definitely helps the balance of the front end.

I know the 318i has it's fans and they love the weight savings, but the M20B25 is a great little sewing machine. Good low end, with the right LSD, and it loves to rev. Makes nice sounds too!

All Alex needs now is socks to go with those sandals, and then we can officially call him the Linus of the fitment world.

Found my E30 back in April of this year. After seven years of looking, I found the one and haven't looked back since. If you are reading this right now and are actively looking for "the one," stay patient. It's well worth the wait. (with how much alex talks about it being slow, get the 325i which has a little kick to it)

@@padrescout I surely have put thousands into it, rebuilding and stroking the engine, getting leather sports seats and retrofitting various extras, but all in all it was well worth it. The car's been super reliable so far.

You guys should do a video about racing harnesses! For track/auto/daily use and what not. An underrated topic which needs more light!

I’m lucky to have a facelift 5sp 325is - it’s all stock. It’s slow and the interior is creaky- but that straight six is silky smooth

That "thing" that doesnt work is an on board computer (obc) the early ones didnt do much but the later model cars could tell you: miles left in tank, average speed, the time, the tempature, it has a stopwatch for lap times, you can enter a distance and it will calculate how long untill you get there, it is even able to be programed with a code as an immobilizer for the ignition
