Please. I can remember when 40 lbs was considered light. It’s the salt from your sweat that the marmots, porcupines and mountain goats like and they habituated to humans. Be sure to pee on solid surfaces like rock and hang your packs and poles.
It is so relaxing and fun to see you enjoying nature. I am happy you record and share it. I am also up for recording a hike later this summer.
Great video as always guys. Super informative but fun and entertaining. Cool to see Bryce along for another collab. Can’t wait for round 2 and the porcupine was a hilarious and slightly unfortunate surprise. Gotta love a porky mod on the trekking poles.
Videos are better every time! Love it
Where are the hammocks? Never mind :) BEAUTIFUL!
CW, yes!!! Now get all the videos out so we can watch them back to back. The Colorado highcountry is amazing, can't wait to see your experience.
Just stumbled upon yall and subscribed loving yall already !!!
If you ever do another trip out west you should look into the Bighorn Crags in Idaho. That is an amazing place to hike as well. Great video
Great footage and trip you guys. The drone shots were amazing !
Imagine the people that acclimate for 8,000 meter peaks. Get it wrong & you can become a permanent fixture of the mountain because unless your’e family can afford a team of Sherpas to bring you down, you’re like so many on Everest & K-2.
Wow what a beautiful section! I gotta get out there for sure…the drone video over the trees was epic…damn porcupine what a strange encounter glad Bryce found his shoe lol oh and I love his colorful hoodie it totally goes with your baby blue jacket!! Look forward to your next adventure guys🌲
That beer fest is a turnoff…😶
Congrats on another awesome hike! Spearfishing an alpine lake? Sounds fun
Great start to an awesome guys! Kevin. You were adding protein powder to your oatmeal... I recently discovered Kodiak brand instant oats. Each pack has 12 grams of protein! Can't wait till the next episode!
Hummingbirds will aggressively protect their patch of ground ....even if it happens to be on Bryce's back. I bang on you guys for various things but this is just a badass video/hike....I love that you show camp and camp related things. I like to know Bryces poop schedule, and its never worth the weight but your drone shots are awesome. A 6000 ft day is a nightmare at those elevations. Thanks so much for the extra effort to not just be talking heads and bring this hike to us. GREAT WORK! Porcupines!!! eating your shit....are you kidding me. You can't even kick that thing. Check one more for california mountains
Wouldn’t bourbon be better bang for the weight
It seems #KeepBryceAlive didn’t work as well again. Poor guy just can’t handle Colorado haha 🤣

Amazing! Keep on trekkin' fellas!! Oh, did Bryce find his shoe or are y'all taking turns giving him piggyback rides down the mountain? 🤠🖖

Luckily it was a camp shoe and he found it
Cool video! Are you sure it was a porcupine and not a marmot ( whistlepig, rock chuck, wood chuck ) that nawd on the trekking poles? They eat almost everything. Years ago my son had one munching on his boot while he was wearing them. Lake Ann is one of my favorites!
@SchillBrothersOutdoors

Oddly enough it was a porcupine, Bryce ran it out of camp a few times during the night
Looks amazing! Porcupines are buggers for sure! Always pack the fly rod in the Rockies! You had some big days at elevation. Awesome stuff fellas look forward to pt. 2!

Next time gotta add a day in just for fly fishing
I’m a big fan of your videos - many thanks! When you were camped at the lake, did you all sleep with your food bags? Porky not interested in food bags, just salty hand residue? -Recently had a bear get our food hangs-dyneema and steel mesh trashed, BearVault stashed on the ground was moved around, but unscathed. I am contemplating never going without a canister again.
Shout out to Town Shirt - nice one guys well done.
In addition to craving salt, I’ve read that porcupines have a strong urge to chew on rubber at certain times of the year. Apparently they crave propylene glycol. They will chew on car tires, brake lines and radiator hoses if you leave a car parked in a porcupine area overnight.

We’ve started hearing stories like this as well, crazy
Ok WTF with that bear hang the first night tho, love y’all but that was not done well and that’s not cool.

Looking like an epic trip guys! That lake camp spot was killer! Would have been a great spot to use a Tenkara for those trout.

I wish I had a tenkara for sure at that lake, filled with trout
Wait! Isn't your dad in this video? Can't believe he wouldn't make this trek too. Great video, looking forward to part 2.

Keep those comments coming. Thx
I wish me and my brothers could do some stuff together like this. I’m 42 now and joined the Army at a young age for the adventure and got my share of it in Afghanistan but anyways. I’ve tried to get my two older bros to do this for years and can never get it to work!! Great video and looks like an awesome place to hike!!

I’m a 57 year old girl and I did it this summer (including Collegiate West). It *is* an awesome place to hike.
What sections is this hike on the CT?! Looks amazing
my trekking poles were destroyed too the same way like y'all's in the Mt Evans area 🤦♂️

Rad, I was just there too hiking all over Breckenridge
Really good boys!
Awesome trip, beautiful views. Butt kicker for sure. Ready for the episode.
So wondering if Dr. Meldrums interview was in the back of your thoughts, especially at night.

You guys came to my home state agian without inviting me wow! I need friends like you guys I would of brought bud instead of beer but thats cuz I don't drink anymore and I would probably out hike you guys since I live here haha!
Bryce’s shirt is giving me Kyle hate hiking “ultralight douche” character vibes

That was not porcupines, that was marmots. They love the salt from your hands that are on the handles.
I'm heading back out there again Aug 27th to continue the CT. Did 1-6 last year and starting on 7. It's going to be rough I think. I probably won't go all the way up and over the first day I don't think. The plan is to go about 7 miles and camp before tree line and go over and past Copper mountain the second day. I live here in Columbus as well but will be in Breck for 2 full days to acclimate, but I'm still a bit worried. What you guys think, any advice? Not sure how far I'll get but I'll have 9 or 10 days on trail.
@SchillBrothersOutdoors

It’s smart giving yourself 2 days in Brek. You’ll be fine just take it slow. Not sure what else can be done (drink lots of water, try to get in shape)

I ended in Breckenridge last year. I probably won't go back this year but I'm a bit worried about when I do. I'll definitely "train" for the next time I go out but I don't know if I'll acclimate or not. Maybe one day in Breck
I’m thinking Bryce needs another beer!
Poor lil' porcupine just wanted some salt!
That condensation is why I'll most likely never own a single wall tent. I don't know why anyone would want that but lots of people do. It's beautiful out there but the hiking is tough.
Porcupine trekking poles mod was hilarious....costly, but hilarious.
I like the color of ghost whisperer Kevin. Much better than the army green jacket that Bryce had on! Also Bryce must’ve got a bowl of soup with that town shirt. Just saying.
ROFLMAO... love the opening! So, essentially Bryce can't handle his beer....
Porcupines like salt. They like axe handles as well.
I mean, I did say you couldn’t take a Prius. Didn’t want to ruin all your fun!Tough climbing but beautiful views!

Did Bryce have altitude sickness? Did that cause the headache?
Let’s go!!!
Watch out for those R.O.U.S.
Are you looking for a video editor?
Nice.
No X-Mids?
Has anybody ever told you that the sound of your drone has ruined their outdoor experience?
Yewww🤘🏼
Did you guys start calling Bryce ‘bird food’?
I just finished the same sections. I wouldn’t recommend camping in the open in front of lake Ann . You ruined the view for other backpackers arriving. There are sights to camp on the high left of the lake .
@SchillBrothersOutdoors

There were no other backpackers at lake Ann
I love backpacking and hiking and I love the elks, sawatch, san jaun most of all. I like what you're filming, but I have zero desire to ever watch this channel. I even like Bryce. Good luck mate.

Could a semifit 60 yr old woman do this? And Brice made fun of u with the baby blue jacket and then he has on a flowery baby blue something.
Almighty God, Christ the Creator of the beautiful mountains in Colorado also created us in His imagine. He deserves praise, not to be damned. I will not be watching this channel.
