Magnificent video! I hope people realize how much time and effort you are putting into your videos. (And that neither you nor I are getting rich off of them.) This one was absolutely great. Also, I was not aware you were crying so much. Maybe that’s one of the benefits of being ahead on the trail! (Joking, of course, I always feel bad when you’re not having a good day.)

Thank you, Liz, for keeping it real for us! Backpacking isn't always easy but you're doing great! Give yourself some grace and don't lose faith in yourself. You got this!

Doing 20s at those altitudes is difficult as your breathing 60 to 70% of sea level oxygen concentrations. Taking that into consideration your both doing very well. Hike safe!

Great video Liz. Even though you and Evan are on the same trail, you each cover different aspects of the hike. You guys are good hiking partners. Wish your Hubby could have finished it with you.

"Harsh"...very accurate description of that section. "Would I do it again? Absolutely!" Heck yeah Liz!! EPIC video!! Had to watch this one a second time on 65-inch TV screen...wow!! You and Evan are killing it. I'm so proud of you both! This series is so enjoyable; thanks so much for sharing!! Oh yeah, that bird was a Dusky Grouse, I believe. Be safe!!!

That's a smokin' video title!! I saw Evan's version of this first. He mentioned the possibility of falling down the snow, hitting the rocks and mangling of his body. Your video was far more telling and choosing not to film was the right thing to do. You guys are doing awesome in very difficult terrain. Love the flashback to Pennsylvania comment there regarding the terrain though. My home AT state! It is so awesome to know that kind of undeveloped land still exists in this country. Soooo beautiful! Keep rockin' and have a great weekend Liz!

I love the long videos… I was going to try to do the CT this year but I got a brand new job so I couldn’t, but they’re aware that I want to do it next summer, so I really love your videos! I live in Monument, Colorado! Keep up the good work! If you ever find yourself in Monument, which you probably won’t, hit, me up! I am a psych NP, and I think doing the trail would be a good experience that maybe I could pass on to my patients!

Liz, I'm sorry you had a mini meltdown, but girl you're the toughest gal I've seen! You were hiking over 12,000 in nasty cold weather over rough terrain and doing over 20 miles!!! That's amazing!!! I honestly don't know how you do it!!! And then to sleep in the freezing cold and everything getting wet, I just don't know how you do this!!! I really started watching your channel for dreadlock info. But seeing all you e been through and all that you accomplish, well you are an inspiration even for this crippled old lady! I'll never hike again but I'm going to start going to the gym and at least get on the treadmill and do some work with weights. Thanks so much for showing us your life and proving that we can rise above adversity and keep moving forward!❤

.. Was a very nice video ... I have hiked/backpacked for over 50 years ,, not a through hiker ,, have never done a 20 mile day ..ever .. don't know the "WHY" in doing so .... your there to experience the terrain and beauty of it all ,, rushing through or hiking through the dark makes no sense to me .. a twisted ankle or a fall that could break bones is very real ,, especially on that scree rock ... Slow down and smell the Columbines ... Going to bed early and getting up early ,, you miss a big part of hiking high mountains ..... One of the bonuses of being at altitude ,, on a clear night you can touch the stars ....

When your hiking long distances time is an issue. Most of us have to get back to our real life's. I am well into my 60s- and 20-mile days are common, and I don't feel like I miss anything. I am on the trail between 5 and 530 am and I hike until I am tired or find a great camp spot. I love night hiking and most people I know love it to. Sometimes you need to hike further than you want to clear long sections up high, no safe places to camp, no water ect. We all hike differently and that is what keeps things interesting. take care and enjoy your hike.
