I skied on a lame pair of 104 184s yesterday. We never want anyone to be disappointed, so we have a 30 day money-back guarantee, drill holes in them and hammer them for a few weeks and if you don't love them, send them back, no questions asked. Thanks for reviewing, I'll work on getting over to Idaho

Awesome! Let me know what I can do to help make that happen. Happy to meet somewhere if that makes it easier. I think that's a really cool policy, and zach had a great point with his buddy's k2 skis that were toast day 1 vs your customer focused philosophy. Very cool to see.

I really like the second opinion. I think ski length and your weight make a big difference with modern skis. Perhaps the next length down would work better. I like that you mentioned skiing style as well, because that does make a difference. Perhaps you could do a ski review with one ski of whatever brand you decide on next in two different lengths with both you and Zach on each ski.

Thanks, Yeah I really appreciate Zach bringing his perspective to a ski that is a bit rare to find on the hills! (since it's relatively new).

Well in my view your friendship with Zach didn’t suffer one bit. The PEAK 104 (based on what I have heard from both of you) is a big boy / hard charging type of ski. BTW… no mention from Zach about the “Keyhole” technology. The radius issue didn’t come up as well. Bode should be satisfied with this review. I would push to get the 88’s so you can throughly compare them to your Atomic Maverick 88Ti skis. Good on you for bringing Zach in to balance things out. I am looking forward to the “Renoun” ski review… the ski looked solid in the turns 😊⛷

It got edited out, but he mentioned not really feeling the keyhole and he talks a bit about the radius when he's saying they have that "SuperG turn" in the beginning. Trying to get some mileage on the renouns before I review because they're a very interesting ski!

Zach skis like how I want to ski. My father skis the renoun skis, maybe I'll give his citadel 106's a shot this season since I was always interested in them. They might be the 169cm instead of the 178 but the materials are interesting.

That's super cool, I'm hoping to try the citadels out as well! Renoun is definitely doing something new with materials. And I want to ski more like Zach too!

Peak skis I believe are manufactured in Europe. For me the 2023 K2 mindbender 89TI at like $400 was the winner for me this season. So far I really like the direction K2 is headed, thinking about the disrtruption MTI for my narrow east coast cruisers .

i bought the 2023 89ti for my daughter, finally got snow and she LOVED them. carve on groomers, swing around in narrow terrain and cut through crud , she is stoked. i will get them too; maybe the 99ti though :)

I still think if I'm going to spend that kind of price on that style of ski I'd rather just get a Stockli

Totally, just depends on what your priorities are, I didn't like my Stormriders off trail as much as these Peak Skis, but medium radius turns, I think agree with you (though the pair I owned were from 2018).

When you mention bad snow and bad weather what do you mean exactly - are we talking West bad? A bad snow day where you are might be a 7 out of 10 in New England... ;)

Haha, yes, Zach is from Tahoe so bad snow day is a different meaning, though this was that kind of east coast crunch, where the snow got warm and then refroze. These skis did great in most snow conditions.

I bought my wife the 98 by Dav for Christmas with adjustable Tyrolia Protector SLR bindings. I got the $250 off deal. We just skied two days at Steamboat primarily on bump runs. She didn't like them at the stated mount point but after moving them forward 3 clicks (24mm) she was very happy. These will now be her go to skis. Just today, I got an email from Peak Skis with a 60% off offer. I just bought the 98 by Bode for myself ($436) and will also mount the Tyrolia Protector bindings. I currently ski Jskis Fastforward and Hotshot so I'm curious to compare to these Peak skis. I expect the 98's to be more manageable than the 104's you tested.

Never skied those so cant comment on the quality of Bode’s skis, but if the skis are 10% as decent as the man behind the brand, those will be awesome.

Having to fly to ski, and not having access to demo days, I’ve had to purchase skis twice “sight unseen”. One didn’t end well and the second ended in my finding a fantastic ski. It’s difficult when you don’t live near a resort or even a state with good skiing. And demoing skis takes away from valuable slope time. So renting a pair can be problematic…..although the outcome is far more predictable.
