When my daughters were little 2 to about 5, my mother in law carried a washcloth to clean their face before they got out of the car. The girls would fuss at her. Reintje reminded me of this.

Super impressed with Reintje, what sweet loving mare she is! Laser focused on her new baby. When Yfie began to bump around her udders she took the discomfort with even a flinch, her belly contracted a bit but she wanted her to nurse more than anything. And her acceptance of Dieuwke was so endearing! Welcome to the 🌎 beautiful little filly 🥰💖

She has always been an extraordinary mother who has permitted you and Boss Rein to be in with her while birthing and teaching her foals that only one side works. The fact Reintje permits you to touch her at her most vulnerable speaks volumes to the trust she has in her people. New little Yfke will be another feather in exquisite Reintje's hat! Yfke's so determined! She's bright, too, she greeted everybody around her that she could see and happily accepted some head scritches. Reintje continues to impress me with the way she handled Dieuwke being right there. They must have a good relationship if Reintje didn't feel the need to pin her ears, she just wanted to know what Dieuwke intended to do. Dieuwke said she'll stay right there, so everything was fine!

This is a good place to ask about Reintje’s udder. What happened? Was she born with just one functioning breast, or was there an injury or infection at one time? It is amazing that one breast does the work of two and provides all the milk for her foals to thrive and grow up strong and healthy.. ❤ i enjoyed watching the way Yvonne patiently teaches Yfke how to find ‘the dairy”. and hearing that sweet sound of success.

Dieuwke is amazingly well-trained at this point, staying just outside the stall and respecting mama and baby.

Yfke is so big, it's like she's standing on stilts! Reintje the perfect mama, doing all the right things. And all the additional aunties standing by: Uniek, Dieuwke, Geertje. Reintje didn't seem to mind at all, at least in the video, she didn't even pin her ears at Dieuwke! I always hold my breath waiting for a new foal to figure out how to nurse. With Yvonne's help, she finally did it. How foals survive in the wild, without any assistance, I'll never know. Congratulations to all. I assume that by now, Yfke is racing around the meadow, maybe even big enough to play with Wunder. It's going to be amazing watching them grow. 😍💖

Yfke is a big, strong, beautiful filly. Reintje is such a calm, caring mother and Uniek supervising to ensure all is going well. What a blessing for Stal H.

I loved the scene where everyone is licking including Uniek. I love how Dieuwke is so curious with each new foal. It was quite touching to watch them all interacting.

Yvonne’s herd is growing quickly. So many new babies. Great adventures to come. The drama of finding the milk tap had me on pins and needles. She is going to be a big mare like her mom and Uniek. Looking forward to watching her grow. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️😀🇺🇸Texas 21:31

It always amazes me to see how the foal zeros in on their yummy milk! I saw a video when I was a practicing lactation consultant of an unmediated birth newborn do that. They placed the baby on mom’s tummy & that brand new baby wriggled & made its way to mom’s breast & latched itself on! Blown away! Now we’re all anxious to see baby Yfke progress & grow💞

Reintje is very patient and confident mother.❤Very beautiful filly as Reintje❤So sweet to see when Yfke and Deuwke had their first moment with nose to nose.☺️And lovely Uniek giving them support.❤️So happy and grateful for Stal H is growing with new generations of Fresians by Yvonne!❤️😍🙏🏻

Seems like we waited a long long time for Reintje's little one ( or should I say big one). But she's worth the wait. Thank you Yvonne and Geertja (spelling is wrong I'm sure) for all you do to share this wonder with the rest of us. 🎉
