-----------------------------------------------------
How do we get rich, but not become miserable doing it? Anyone who tells you "money can't make you happy" is lying. Money is awesome. But money can also lead to despair when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, because on average it takes 12 years and 5 months to save $500k at a reasonable rate.
So how do we do the grind to get us there without breaking us? Today I'm going to show you the "money map," or the route you can take to the goal of making money while avoiding some of the most common pitfalls.
First is the "heads-down" zone. This is part of the process from $0 to your first $100k. And here's the truth nobody wants to hear: it's going to suck. A LOT. But the key to making it suck less is to fall in love with learning. I'll give you the "self interview" test in this video so you can better understand yourself and what motivates you.
There's a Japanese concept called "Ikigai" which combines what you love, what you need, what you're good at and what you can get paid for to give you a reason for being. The sooner you figure this out, the sooner you can be on the right path towards making money and not burning out.
Are you obsessed with what you're doing? Do you love it? Are you getting paid for it? Why or why not? Comment below, I want to hear from you. Also we're almost at our 1 million subscriber milestone, so if you haven't already, subscribe and tell a friend!

My subconscious clicked on this just now even though I just realized it was an "old" upload...you changed the thumbnail photo didn't you? Somehow you triggered my inner evolutionary psychology genes: Fear of missing out --when I saw that new thumbnail face... I immediately clicked like there was no tomorrow. Then I caught myself when I noticed the "10 days ago". Excellent way to artificially wake up the scarcity genes in me. Bravo Codie! Give this comment to your research people

Wow I wish I would have seen this two years ago. I became so miserable, anxious and depressed when my business hit $500k in a year and ended up regressing. I wanted to burn it all down and I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. Glad to see it’s actually kind of common. On the bright side, I redesigned my entire career and life to be more intentional and work smart instead of hard.

i dont know how many videos and notes i have watched and written in the past week but I have tried to do many of the things you have suggested doing like seller finance and also looking at businesses in my area and my area sucks. I got off the phone with a broker this afternoon in upstate NY about a laundry-mat that someone is selling and they just want me to get pre-approved before they want to show the building. They kept talking and kept saying i need this or that. I really bombed that conversation.

Ikigai sounds great, but I still haven't gotten around to getting paid to do what I like. I've been working in multiple fields for 25 years, and still haven't figured it out. It's nice to have equity and be maxing out my ROTH IRA - but that seems to be all I can do at this point. Still keeping my eyes open for opportunities... but man, does it seem hard to actually find them.

My greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat especially with the political power tussle going on in US. The government has really called things more difficult for its citizens, and we can't sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance.
