Dude you are the man! please keep this amazing content going dawg, i'm a big supporter of it
Very insightful cheers. This is a great channel that breaks down concepts very simply and concisely. Subbed because of this + the basslines vid.
You are in another level Dilby. Thank you for all your content.
Great stuff!!
Hi Dilby, hi have just discovered you and this is the sound I’ve been looking for, I think your videos are great, I work in logic but have never used ableton. I work with other logic producers and am too old to change now and I only discovered you this morning as I’m in bed with covid, and this evening, I started a remix of Calvin Harris and the deciples, how deep is your love, and for me, you have changed the game, Thank you Anthony

Mate - great video as always! Inspiring how much thought and care you’ve put into your drums! What a perfect example of how many small things can add up to something greater than the sum of its parts! Got a question: is your kick going through the drum buss processing chain in the last section of the video? Or do you kick and bass get bussed together and go separately to the stereo out? Cheers!
Really nice tutorial... ❤

Glad you like it!
Interesting trick to glue the drums together. I think I will try that plus also with parallel processing with only a part of the drums wet, just as an experiment.

Let me know how you get in mate
I just bumped into your channel. I'm impressed at your content. Great info. Would you be interested in doing a video on how you've set up your Simpler instrument rack? I'm trying to get better as integrating these into my workflow, but seem to almost always simply use the normal plugin controls. I'm an older guy and often get overwhelmed by all the various customization options.
great tips! what about a bass tutorial, how to make it and how to make it work in the mix!

Many thanks for these vids mate! Quick question. I noticed you include your kick in the drum bus here, but on the kick and bass vid, you got them in their own group. What is your current bussing method? Include the kick in the drum bus or bus it with bass? Thanks!

Hey bro, the kick isn't being processed in the drum bus here. I always use a kick and bas bus and a drum bus. Some people like to include the kick in the drum bus but I find it a bit counter intuitive as the kick is going to be triggering the compressor the most and you can easily ruin your kick and still not control the dynamics of your drums. If you'r just adding a bit of colour then it might be fine, but I prefer to do it separately.
Nice tips Dilby. Do you group kick with the rest of your drums?

No, I bus kick with bass and group drums together on another bus.

The drums right at the start of the video are the feel and sequence I'm trying to program with not much success, any tutorial on how to create that groove?
