@SwavyCurlyCourtney So I have a question as I’m just really getting good into my curly girl journey. I may know the answer to this but I’ll ask anyway. Can this clarifying shampoo be used every wash day? If not, what is a good shampoo to add in the mix with these products?

Out of all the wavy/curly hair channels, your hair seems to be the closest match to what my hair is like. Only, yours is much healthier & shinier. I'm working on making mine healthier. But, I'm on the road a lot for my job. It's hard to keep up a consistent routine. I thank you for the inspiration you give me. 😊 Been watching you for around three years. Keep these videos coming! I have to chime in again (2 months later). I LOVED the gel during transition but somewhere along the way it became too heavy for me (or I thought) BECAUSE of EXACTLY what you said - since my transitioning hair was extremely damaged I previously used a cream underneath and now that my damage is grown out I revisited it avoiding a leave in and HOLY SMOKES I have a newfound love for this gel! The ONLY downfall for me is that it does take just a little bit longer to dry compared to my normal gel (Curlsmith Aqua Gel). The extra 5 minutes diffusing paid off though and this product alone REALLY worked beautifully to define and ENHANCE my curls! The shine is INSANE! This is still my favorite product I have seen you use on your hair and now it’s a favorite of mine AGAIN! Even though it LOOKS like we gave very different hair the products you use that work for you somehow work very well for me too! You have very much become a major influence for me Courtney! Thank you so much for being our test subject and putting all the work in to make these videos! I am always super excited to see you pop up in my subscription list! ❤❤❤

That custard is magic! I started using it about two months ago in the shower before dry plopping. The definition is insane! I didn't change the other parts of my routine at all.

I think these are the best results of yours that I've ever seen! I'd love to see you do the exact same thing, a second time, to see if it again garners the same result.

Best wash day. I also have super fine, medium density hair. I cannot style my hair soaking wet. It comes out terrible. So damp styling is my go to, and with that, it's rare to not get a cast. Haven't used Kinky Curly products in a while but have always loved the leave-in and Custard. Need to try the shampoo now and use them all together. Thanks for the video.

I love the Kinky curly come clean shampoo. I haven't used the custard in so long that I don't remember how I feel about it. When you were talking about the ingredients in the custard, it made me think of the Uncle Funky's daughter curly magic curl stimulator which contains many of the same ingredients. It would be interesting to see how that works on your hair

I am so excited! I tried these products today. I washed twice and styled with flip, glaze, and scrunch. It looks fabulous. I suspected my hair had been over moisturized. This seems to have solved my problem. I'm over the moon and thrilled. Thank you!❤

Kinky Curly Custard was the first styler I bought a few years ago, when I first discovered that my hair was wavy. I used the whole tub, and then started playing with all the other options out there. Now I’m thinking it’s time to give it another go!

I have thick very high porosity hair. I’ve tried SO many products, and this routine worked on my very course sometimes kinky hair. I have curls and no frizz. No poof! I found my new product home.

The curling custard and knot today both have ingredients commonly used in pure herbal haircare, they contain a lot of mucilage which is where all that slip and definition comes from! Marshmallow root, slippery elm and Irish sea moss are all in a similar vein to flaxseed with all the hair-loving mucilage ❤

i love the kinky curly gel but haven’t been loving my waves lately so i can’t wait to try this trio

I love using the Knot Today and Curling Custard and I always get a cast. Also I know the Knot Today says for fine hair to wash it out, but for some odd reason on my baby fine hair, leaving it in works really well.

Amazing results!! My mind is blown that Kinky Curly is a drug store brand in the US! It it close to impossible to get anything more than the custard here and even that is so hard to come by it keeps selling out super quick.

I discovered this at the beginning of my curly hair journey (definitely have not kept up with the method as religiously as some lol) and this is still my favorite! Closely followed by Curlsmith lol

*WOW* . What I noticed the most was the shine and definition. My hair type is very similar to yours, I have less density because I'm getting close to 60. I have not gotten great results with sopping wet styling or gels that I have tried. This combo looks promising. Thank you Courtney!

@@SwavyCurlyCourtney *Update 2.19.2024* . Sally Beauty had Kinky-Curly on sale, buy 2 get 1 free. I purchased the trio. I had just washed my hair the previous evening and had little product in it so I soaked my hair, used the Knot Today, did a good Squish to Condish and rinsed out. I applied a wee bit of Knot Today on my ends before glazing with the Custard and pulsing. My hair is fine and low density, 2B-c on a good day. I diffused to 90% got a good cast and air dried for an hour. I scrunched with a t-shirt and fluffed. I have volume, I have shine, I have definition and some sweet corkscrews. My hair feels light and touch- ably soft. I never would have chosen this brand had I not watched your video. I can't wait to play around more with these products and try a bit of brush styling. If my hair continues to love the custard, I'll be purchasing 3 at the next sale.

I love the custard with nym curl talk moose. I'll try it this way too.

So, after watching this video, I bought the clarifying shampoo and I can't believe my curls. I have curl families for the first time EVER. My hair is much shorter than yours, so it's really difficult for me to form curl families,. I only used the clarifying shampoo because I'm on a well with very hard water, and a rinse out conditioner from another brand, no gel, no styling product at all, and air dried ... and OMG! I have curl clumps in exactly the right size (I use a detangling, wide-tooth comb with two rows offset, likely by Goodie). I can't believe this shampoo made such a difference. Now, I'm going to have to get the conditioner and gel or whatever the last bit is. I may have found my perfect line thanks to you!

Amazing results! I've held back from getting it mostly due to the price for being at the drugstore, but I may just have to try it!

The custard is a little on the higher end for a drugstore but it is more concentrated. You can sometimes find some great deals!

I've been using Kinky Curly products for awhile now, so it doesn't surprise me that this is your BEST one-product wash day! I find my hair looks even better on Day 2.

How important is it to do it all with your hair upside down? My hair gets all tangled when I put it back in place, unless I immediately diffuse it upside down. Thanks for all your tips! I’ve been doing this about 6 months and have really liked your inexpensive recommendations.
