In history class the seven years war wasn't even mentioned. That's because us Dutch didn't fight in it. We didn't want to spend even MORE money fighting the French and English. Because yes, we were major rivals with both, and we fought both, even if we hated France more. WW1 was also hardly covered in history. At the high levels a bit about tourists going to watch Belgians get shot trying to cross the border, but not particularly much else. Especially compared to WW2. WW2 was the worst for the Netherlands in recent memory, and thus gets covered much much much much more then any other part of history.
