“the sun is stronger at night” is probably a very bad translation relating to battles in the pacific theater where the Japanese navy had better night optics than its American counterpart (which allowed them to win the majority of night engagements during the Guadalcanal campaign).

The one where Amharic Wikipedia says that British and American folks are all descendants of fallen angels, describes the Big Mac as being made of BEEF CUBES, and tells you how to make a fruitcake at the end. ("STRIKE the egg!" etc.) I'd written a comment on it months ago and everything. :P

We also get the debut of SHE, who has a strong start, first appearing as President of the Philippines. :P Also Ronald Reagan apparently goes Commie in that universe and EVERYTHING is turned upside-down. Everyone's attacking the wrong side, the Cold War immediately goes hot...it's amazing.

This is so much better if you pull up the actual wikipedia timeline. You get an idea of where the translator got its inspiration from

When they said that something happened in Hogwarts it probably wouldn't have been due to Voldemort but due to Grindelwald, who was german (at least I assume due to his name and the 3rd Fantastic Beasts movie being partially set in germany) and Voldemort being only a student then... (That being said, it was more or less the same year the chamber of secrets got opened the first time)

Actually yeah, when it got to that part of the video, I was kinda like "Wait, wouldn't that be roughly during the 'Fantastic Beasts' movies timeline?" So yeah, we do kinda know SOME of what was going on in the Wizarding World, during that time period.

WWII was the era of Grindelwald (the big bad before Voldemort). They tried making a Movie series about Grindelwald fighting against a Young Dumbledore to explain what the wizards were doing during WWII, but the Fantastic Beast Series completely flopped and wont be continuing any further.

Which is exactly what happened in the Cold War Badly Translated video--Reagan turned into a Commie and went around attacking South Korea, making a policy to PREVENT the collapse of Communist regimes in third-world countries...etc. The second the Korean War even started, everyone switched sides perfectly in that version. It's amazing. XD

In addition to the bad translations, I love what a whiplash of tones this whole thing is. It's like: "This country bombed that country, killing thousands. The French love Italian clothes!" or "So-and-so declared war on such-and-such. Here's how the sports match went!" like what. XD (I think my fave example of this was: "The MAGIC of the NIGHT was in full swing in Coventry as *the city center is totally destroyed.* " wat)
