The germans reached Crimia in september of 1941 and in order to invade it they had to wait till early november of 1941 because there's a strait in the northern part of crimia which can be crossed by foot if the water is frozen in the surrounding lakes. That's why we can see in the video that nearly on all fronts they were attacking consistently, but they stopped with advancing for 2 months. The situation is very similar in todays world with the Russo-Ukrainian war.

The reason Germany invaded Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium was to keep the British off the mainland, because they declared war on Germany, who only wanted the expand east. When you consider the geography it makes a lot of sense. Norway is a country separated by sea from Germany and made up of only mountains. The terrain is some of the worst to invade. Geography matters as they say. Look at how Afghanistan fighting in the mountains resisted Russia and the US is recent history with a much larger difference in power.

The reason for the big push of the wester allies is simple. Most of the wehrmacht soliders preferd to surrender to the british or US soldies to avoid ending up in a sibirian gulag. Also the commanders ordered to let them pass and focus on the east to protect the civillians from the soviets.

@@user-ll6bx1db6rno one said the Soviets were worse than the Germans. But the Soviets had a lot more animosity towards Germans due to those such as the Einsatzgruppen The British ended up with a total of 3.6 million German prisoners, the most out of everyone, but also had by far the least amount of fatalities in captivity.. there was a clear preference for capture. The British dedicated its efforts towards reeducation for POWs, so did the Soviet Union… but erm, teaching a Nazi about communism doesn’t usually work as well

It baffles me to know that the soviets from 1941 to mid 1942 had a disadvantage of fielded troops in the Eastern front while at the same time they stopped the Germans at the gates of Moscow and repelled them back. It wasn't until later that the soviets achieved a 1:3 advantage of field troops. *BASED* soviets troops

at the beginning of the war, the troops of the union were dispersed throughout the country, a large chunk of the troops was concentrated on the border with Japan and moved to the front with Germany only at the end of the year. Also, the Soviet Union adopted the "scorched earth" tactic, due to which the German troops practically did not receive supplies when approaching Moscow.
