    Some great points here. I also use a criterion for my game ideas: 1. Broad - accessible to everyone 2. Unique - easily stands out, has a twist on familiar things 3. Engaging - interesting and fun to interact with 4. Viable - easy to make, bang-for-the-buck, fits the market It may or may not be biased towards mobile game dev as that's what I'm doing lately. But hope you find it interesting anyway.

    I feel like there's a 5th rule for games if you want them to be popular....give players something they can react too. KZreadrs and streamers are always looking for something that is also good to watch...not just play, giving mechanics that allow for these guys to maximise their viewability means you will get a load more free advertising.

    As a game idea that's cool. I like the fire spirit attack mechanic in your game! As a pitch it might be better to shorten it a bit further. It doesn't need to contain all of the information, as the purpose of the pitch is not necessarily to explain the game, but to get people excited or intrigued. Maybe something like "You use the power of a friendly fire spirit to save your friends from a mysterious enemy that has appeared in the forest."

    I have a great idea i think: The idea is the become the strongest creature/ fighter in the universe it is mostly inspired by dragon ball,baki and other anime -you start by making a custome character with a lot of options - you can choose a few attacks and some special attacks -every player starts with 100 power level wich takes these point Strength 20 Speed 20 Agility 20 Special powers 20 Endurance 20 - you can get a extra power levels by: -training you can train every attribute Strength: deadlift,bench press,squat, one armed pushup etc Speed: fast punches etc Agility: sprinting,jumping rope Special powers: no training Endurance:running,squat hold etc -fighting mutant beast -fighting robots with your bare hands You spawn with other players on a map with robot soldiers tanks planes etc and you can also fight the other players you gain power by killing not by winning the whole game - and of course arena 1v1 fights -you have power divisions and arenas -division 1 level 100-500 the streets - division 2 level 500-1000 the gym - division 3 1000-2000 local arena - division 4 2000-3000 arena - division 5 3000-5000 super arena - division 6 5000-7000 mega arena - division 7 7000-9000 arena of warriors - division 8 9000+ legendary arena - you get a fight with a random fighter from your division if you win you get power -you have a energy bar that drowns when you train and fight and gets filled by by inactivity - you have ranking for your division And eventually the goal is to have the strongest power level in the world

    I got a question. So I have a lot of knowledge about programming and game development, but I have close to no real experience. Let me explain. I have been interested in programming and game dev for 9 years, watched countless tutorials and started countless projects, but never finish them, not even the small ones. I am still young and I got ADHD so for me it's hard to not go through on new shiny objects. I feel like my knowledge is at an intermediate level, but my actual experience is beginner. Beginner tutorials don't apply as I understand most concepts and things and steps already, but advanced things and ideas also don't apply as I never actually finished a game. What would you do in this situation?

    Thank u so much! I have one idea but I have literally no clue how to make this: You stole a special gun that can shoot ANY element known to this world (and see what happens...) Idk how I am able to make any element react with the surroundings and affect the gameplay. One at a time? There are people chasing you in the game as you stole it and you are trying to get away (highscore, health etc...) The mechanic to program 100+ different elements... Idk what to do but the idea is ringing in my head as it's possibly unique? Thanks so much! This was so helpful!

  • @KroneDev

    @KroneDev

    Жыл бұрын

    5 months later so I don't know if you're still on this idea, but have you thought of lowering the scope to just a select group of the elements. I think I remember there being a group of elements that were volatile (could be the wrong word), in which using those elements to cause different sorts of explosions could be both interesting and smaller in scope than all 100~ elements. A way to possibly simplify the interactions between the elements though, is that you could have each element give off its own signal. So perhaps you have iron on the ground, with oxygen next to it, they both send out their signal, the iron receives the oxygen signal and then rusts, where the oxygen receives the iron signal, and perhaps doesn't even care. Not sure what the terminology of this interaction would be, but I've it get used in the form of damage types. So if you shot something, the thing that was hit would do something different depending on the signal it received upon being hit.

  • @stardreamix786

    @stardreamix786

    @@KroneDev Hey, thanks so much for helping me, I haven't really made any progress yet, but your ideas about signalling and damage types are interesting to picture. Yes, there are some elements that are extremely reactive to some surroundings and changes, I could make a mechanic out of it. There could be different environments (hot, cold etc) that change all the reactions that happen with the same elements. The signals of the elements you mentioned = amazing idea! I could have when the iron rusts to form Iron Oxide, it signals a trap for the player. When you shoot lets say pottassium at some water; Explosion. The signals produced from these reactions can be put into a player bank in which he learns how to use what element to another to create the desired effect to run away further with the lab weapon. The player will know what to use when as you progress. Thanks so much for the help 😊

    Imagine a game where only civilization on earth is zombies. Now it is human apocalypse zombies turn into humans and those humans fight against zombies. You play as a zombie where you have to kill all humans alive with the help of your zombie mates and cure the human apocalypse.There are two game modes human mode where you play as human and zombie mode. This could be good multiplayer game though.

    this is good advice if you're making a simple mobile game. but what if I'm making an RPG? the obstacles the player face are like.. the bad guys / not losing in battle?? in one sentence: use a team of monsters in battle to pass initiation for your tribe in a prehistoric world, but then the real boss reveal itself and there's a special battle system and job system and fan-submitted monster designs and.. it's not gonna work. it'll take a paragraph just to NAME all the features. do I really need a wacky food-shooting gimmick or something?

    I think, for this example, job systems and fan-submitted monsters are details you could omit. I would do it as so: "Control a team of monsters in battle with cards to pass initiation for your tribe in a prehistoric world" if the special battle system is cards, for example.

    Bit late to this, but I think an RPG should start small and then expand where needed. The core part of Pokemon for example is catching monsters and using them to battle other monsters. That's it, TMs don't need to be mentioned, the Elite Four doesn't need to be mentioned, etc. Those features might be iconic, but they're not really core to the Pokemon experience. You can add that extra stuff later if your scope allows for it.
