I finally had the extra cash to upgrade to the RamJet-X. I love it. Makes me feel like a Cadillac version of the old tyco controllers when i was a kid. Well worth the purchase!

We are Scalextric Digital, and the best thing we did was move from the stock controllers to the TruSpeed controllers. What a world of difference!

Dave you're being kind. The Carrera Digital thumb plunger controllers are really bad...I bought Tru Speed gun controllers and never looked back.

RamJetX is a great controller. I got one got my D132 track. So much better than plungers, even if it's wired. ;-)

Truespeed is supposedly coming out with a wireless version of theirs. I really like the wireless because it allows me to marshal while driving my own car. I race with my kids mostly so... it's a big job. I've had several Carrera controllers flake out on me including that switch in the lane change buttons. Anyways, I have a Truespeed wired controller & the only thing that I really am challenged with is location of the lane change button... that said, I don't know where else you could put it on a trigger controller.

Prices very fair..I like it..I remember them for lane avoidance stuff..along with tuning, layout design, some decent controllers are great step from basic sets towards a hobby set up that’s good for long haul

Hi From Québec. I need to upgrade my SCX stock controller. I did order these!!

I got the Ram Jet, due to this video. Yeah it has worked, its also broke twice and Ive had it apart, parts were sent, I fixed it, it has some other issue now, I have to wiggle the trigger a bunch and it can work. 100.00? I dunno, the wireless carrera controllers seem to work really well here.

Great video! Does this come in a wireless version? I know there has been talk about it for a few years.

Why doesn't someone make controller 'extension' cords (like playstation)? My situation requires wireless unless longer cords were available. Plus I like different perspectives of the layout. Or how about a dongle?

One other product DRS should consider offering is extension cables for Carrera Digital controllers. I keep seeing people ask about extension cables, to be able to spread drivers around a track table. If DRS has access to male and female plugs for Carrera, they could easily offer extension cables in 10 and 20 feet, and I think plenty of folks would buy them. Either that, or figure out how to make their controllers work with Carrera's wireless+ system.

The thumb controllers are a huge put-off for me when it comes to owning a Carrera track. This looks like a must

You can put them in the palm of hand, and use a finger instead of thumb.

I use both Tru Speed and Frankenslot wired controls. Slot.it is next on my list. How long is the Ramjet extra length cord? Is the dual trigger longer and wider?

Thanks really informative. I'm going to the DRS website to investigate their products. Can you help with a technical question as I'm new to Carrera. I have the digital setup but also want to run my analogue cars. Can I have both digital and analogue control units side by side in my track and just switch on the one I want to use, or do I have to remove the digital one with its track piece and replace with the analogue? Thanks.

you need to remove ALL the digital pieces to run analog. if you don't you could damage the digital parts.

In Australia I'm not seeing this brand. I'm looking for 1 controller to work for home racing on Carrera Digital, Carrera Analog and also club racing on a wooden track. Maybe Sloit.it can do it?

Thanks for watching! Personally I like wired controllers but I see that most people do want wireless.

They only show controllers for Carrera and SCX. Would I have to cut the wires on my Scalextric and make a DIY construction so that it would plug into the controller (power) board? Thanks-

so this idea goes beyond what I'm able to do personally. I'm NOT someone that knows how to do wiring so I don't make any videos about that. I would suggest going to a sight like professor motor to get a replacement controller for Scalextric. But better yet I'd suggest taking out the stock power supply entirely and replace it if you're analog.

I'm new to the hobby , so here's my question , I have and 18 volt power supply for my 24 scale cars , can I run 32 scale cars on the 18 volt supply , and if not why ?

Yes you can use the 18v power supply with the 1/32 carrera digital cars. You are Carrera digital correct? You didn't mention it but I guessed.

@@JustSlotCars My tek slot box won't work in analog. The manufacturer says I must have a short in my layout. I have checked everything and it won't work. The analog cars go 10% of max speed with throttle fully depressed. All my jumpers have been disconnected. All my curved lane change track have been modified. I don't know what to do.

@@MrAramsey4979 This is what the developer of Tek-Slot told me to try. You can also try this: even in Digital, press both of the red pushbuttons on the SwitchBox in and leave them depressed. This effectively cuts power to the internal decoders. Then run the cars and let us know the outcome. It seemed to clear my issue. My problem was different from yours, but it’s worth a try. I ended up buying another one and using the one that was giving me issues as a backup.

I'm using Carrera wireles and no problems at all.

They work great, and are heavier and more substantial feeling. If there's a problem I haven't seen it. I push a button, the car squirts forward. I'm not a professional.

I miss having a trigger control, but I'm unsure how to convert Carrera track to accept a three wire controller.

For an Analog track? What power base do you have? There are after market trigger control that will plug straight into the analog power base

@@ollien3359 Its a stock analog Carrera track. here in Australia we have a three prong plug that is different to the phone RJ connector. I am fine with wiring and soldering ect, so i'll happily modify to suit the controller haha

I doubt that I would pay that price for a controller for a kid. This does seem to be for club racing. If I am racing at home and I want six controllers the cost is a bit prohibiting. But, the controller does seem nice.

What is the footprint of your track ??

my table is 5x16 the track is a bit smaller than that.

To bad it isn't wireless, now that would be great. I have Carrera Digital track. All my cars are digital. So wireless would be great in a better controller.

Frankenslot makes one, F88796 is the part number and I've seen it for $170.00. Its on my wish list, I like to be able to move around my track. Although these RamJet look like quality, but on a leash - decisions, decisions ........

@@thor8640 so I'm just old school. I don't feel the need to "not" have a wire connecting me to the car. I like the solid, no frills wire connection and I'm always near the start/finish line anyway where the plugs are so for me it's just fine to have a wired controller.
