Thanks! The devil is in the detail as they say, I suspect this video is too long for some but if you want to do it right... 😎

How about if you have a spray gun and compressor? Is the painting easier?

Hi @alexmorgan3435 Great question! I'm not sure it is easier to apply the paint with a compressor and air gun but potentially you get a better finish and the lacquer (if it is 2k, with a separate hardener that you mix in) will be more durable. It could even work out cheaper (barring the cost of the equipment) for the materials for the spray gun method because all of those aerosol cans get expensive! However, the video was aimed at people who don't have access to specialist equipment. Cheers, Phil

Welcome! Nice to have you as a subscriber :-) Glad you liked the wheel refurb video. They are detail heavy and a little repetitive due to the nature of the job but the idea is that you watch this one video (or in this case two!) and can do the job yourself at home. Thanks, Phil

As always very detailed information of how to do yourself. Well done! I'm not sure if you can help me, I do have a Jeep Commander with the OM642 and 6 months ago I bought 6 brand new injector and fuel pressure regulator but I didn't coded the injectors in the process. I'm getting P0087 fuel pressure low only when I push the vehicle hard or overtaking towing my trailer per example. In normal circumstances I do have any error code at all. Since them I'm resetting the error when that happens because during my commuting or driving in normal circumstances the error never show up. What you suggest? Coding the injectors will solve this? I'm now have the app in my phone to do that, I'm just need to check the cylinder order either. I appreciate your advice on this

Hi, sorry for the slow reply on this! I did some reading on this and it seems the most likely culprit is the fuel pump (at the tank, not the high pressure one on the engine) or the fuel filter near the pump. I note that about you mentioned new injectors and regulator? Why did you replace these as the problems may be related. Regarding coding, I haven’t needed to code injectors before but my understanding is that this is more linked to efficiency (as long as the car starts and runs) to get the best power and fuel economy possible. Here is a link to a discussion about the fault code you listed above and installing a temporary fuel pressure gauge to check, hope it helps! www.benzworld.org/threads/p0087-fuel-rail-system-pressure-too-low.2446665/ thanks, Phil

@@ReviveMyRide Thanks for replying. I did replace all the injectors as three of them were returning too much fuel. The regulator was my betting that will solve my P0087 issue but didn't make any difference. I was suspecting about the low fuel pressure pump inside the tank as well. Its the least expensive but more labour involved. I will do that. Thanks

Hi @kellysean25 I found that 1 can of primer, 1 can of colour and 1 can of lacquer did 2 wheels. So, double that if you want to do all four. BTW, the wheels are lasting really well, as good as fully refurbed and painted ones but it is a time consuming job (but rewarding)! 👍 Thanks, Phil
