Franks biggest issue is he and everyone around him are going off of and hyping up that sparring session as proof that he can hang without realizing mindset is a completely different animal. Tank went in for a sparring session, Frank went in to prove himself. Thats a big difference.

Neither of those things are true - atleast the first can be debated. Hyping up a fight using a sparring session is one thing. Thats just marketing of course he’s doing that. but you don’t actually know how he views that so you don’t know how he truly rates himself competitively. They wore headgear. That alone is proof atleast that Frank is going to be aware enough to know it’s not the same. On that note, it wasn’t dog house rules that either of them have made clear. That would be one thing. If it was, this would be unequivocally debunked. By definition their dog house sessions are not simply normal sparring in any sense. Second point is fully debunked. What we do know is tank wasn’t scheduled to get rounds with Frank - he only came in after franks first session. Meaning Tank was brought in with the understanding he was getting the better of his gym mate. That alone is proof enough tank was aware he was walking into a session beyond the average sparring session. I can only speculate but i suspect tank was mad he got caught (if true) not bc he was taking it lightly and Frank broke some agreement as a try-hard, but just bc he’s a world champion boxer and of course he’s going to want to go no headgear after that. I’d expect that. Net, using a sparring session to market a fight? I hope so. You suggesting Frank shouldn’t ? He’s selling the fight that’s his job. What do you think Devin has been doing setting up the Tank fight for years. Is that evidence he thinks he can “hang” with tank and as you imply give him a potentially false assumption? I don’t think it proves that - it more so proves he’s using his one selling angle to make the most of a title opportunity. He clearly respects tank and the most confident comment he’s made is actually in this video that I’ve seen of the entire build up “I can get mean too”. That’s hardly controversial.

Personally, the sparring session means nothing! I like Tank style in the ring, but his fans glorify sparring to the next level. We need Tanks great sparring resume of opponents to translate over to the big stage. Loma is fighting Kambosos, Zepeda just fought and if you can’t get Shakur to be fair Frank is in that 4th to 6th best lightweight. Yes, Frank is 29 and his best win is Rivera but it’s still quality enough at 135. That’s why I like the fight it has nothing to do with sparring.

Tank’s last few fights had showed his maturity as a boxer. He no longer seeks KO’s, he lets the KO’s come to him. He thinks & shows patience instead of taking unnecessary punches chasing the KO. He trusts his defense, counter punching, speed & power now. Anybody under 140lbs will get the bizzness from Tank when he’s patient & focused. Should be a good fight💪🏾

⁠I can’t be the only one worried about Frank Martin freezing in there, and showing up simply to survive? And as we’ve seen before, like Canelo Tank is a pot-shotting counterpuncher. If an opponent wants to survive instead of going for the win, they can do so. Tank won’t get the KO unless Martin comes to fight.

What I learned from the Rolly vs Davis fight: 1) The ONLY FIGHTER that can beat tank is a person that is ok with winning a fight based on points. Rollys mistake was that he was looking for a knockout… Rollys trainer trained him well for Davis, just the psychological part was neglected. 2) Tank feeds on his opponents aggression. If you are ok with winning a round with 3 punches tank will have a hard time with you. 3) If you want to beat tank don’t block his punches dance away from them. You need to jump rope 1 hour a day without rest. 4) If you want to beat tank don’t fight him on the inside, stay on the outside stretch that arm out when you punch and again BE OK with winning a round with 3 punches. Because he feeds off of his opponents aggression. So DO NOT TRY TO KNOCK HIM OUT! The fans won’t like the fight but you’ll make up for it in your other fights.
