They need to try Faster EFT As well.I am nowhere near ocd but I also dont like mess and untidyness everywhere, and to be honest I have a 3 yr old and her constant mess depresses me, but I let her do it and clean when she sleeps. Then she goes to her dad on weekends and for 2 days I can live in peace and calm until she comes home and the mess starts again. And im not ocd everything is not on its place like a showroom. So I do feel for this guy. Its really not a good feeling

Yeah that’s what OCD is. It’s not just “haha I gotta organise.” It’s “if I don’t organise these cushions 14 times right now everyone I know and love will die in a fire”. That’s the compulsive part.

I know for some it’s untreatable and it’s possibly being hammed up for the cameras but (in my opinion) the mother has a responsibility to utilise therapy or medication to help herself and as a result support her daughter? Lesley also admits that she feels responsible for Tuesday having OCD and felt really upset and blames herself. They are both seeking help to the best of their ability. Clearly they never had to take any responsibility for their actions or needed to help around the house or anything really. Not even respect for someone else's property has been internalised. I guess with so little respect, a complete lack of responsibility and so much lazyness between the two of them, chances are that the mother feared that if she doesen't let them live there, they'd become criminals in order to support themselves.

It's beyond me why so many parents think that making children help with chores appropriate for their age is taking away something of their childhood when, in fact, it can be very rewarding for them short and long-term. It's not as if children at coming off age suddenly know all these things; and on top of that, there's that sense of entitlement that develops which leads them to believe that everyone owes them while they don't need to lift a finger. 'Doing everything for your children' doesn't need and shouldn't be taken literally, they can and should do some things for themselves and for their family, f.e. setting/clearing the table, bring out the rubbish, wash the dishes, wipe the table and the like. It's those little things that make everyone's life easier and which also has children grow into responsible adults. - Unlike here...

It's interesting the psychological effect these people have on one another. In the end the OCD people tend to loosen up their standards a bit and the hoarders tend to feel invigorated to keep their home clean. It's a win-win for both parties. It seems the OCD people have taken a step back and realize how their cleaning is a bit too much, that you can still enjoy it being a little messy temporarily while doing things with the children and still be able to retain their standards afterwards. They realize that the family interaction is much more valuable in the end than a spotless germ free home and they begin to see that once they help out the hoarder. Sometimes psychiatric treatment in itself isn't enough to turn a person around. Sometimes it's the intervention that does the trick,

In cognitive behaviour therapy it's often successful to have controlled exposure tho what you may have a phobia or feeling uncomfortable about. The effects may be similar for these situations. Germohobe exposed to them som hours per day and hoarder getting to view their stuff trough a more critical evaluating frame. Often they seem to be obsessed over the issue of "my stuff" and come up with weird answers when asked what purpose or good it is to them.

Even if it's only 1 or 2 items she missed cus her fella or son didn't put them in the wash basket or her son didn't tell her till late on he had P.E the next day & his kit was in his school bag that he forgot to take out. She'll clean & hoover last thing at night sleep for a few hours then clean & hoover again even though no ones been up to make a mess. And that's cus she thinks germs have grown overnight, especially now they've got a cat that wasn't her choice. She's had it 13 years now, since she got pregnant, & her fella still after 13 years doesn't understand it & says to her You don't have to do it, just leave it, get over it etc. And it actually angers me too but I know it's just cus he doesn't fully understand it. There's only me she'll talk to about it & tell if she's got a new ritual cus no one else understands, they roll their eyes & say oh god not another, why do you do it, can't you just stop. I spoke to her 1 day & said that it sounds to me like there's 2 voices in her head, her voice then OCD's voice. Her voice says you don't have to do it it's not dirty, not been used, leave it till later cus you'll only be doin it again. Then the OCD tells her But you've got to do it cus of germs, do it now or it'll get worse, what if someone comes & sees you've not washed your coffee cup. She said OMG yes that's exactly what it's like I do hear 2 voices & OCD always wins cus if I don't do it I don't get no peace & my anxiety ramps up. Apologies for the long comment but it's close to my heart & I truly feel for anyone suffering with it. To OCD sufferers I hope & pray 1 day you'll get the help or find the things that helps you & gives you the peace of mind you so desperately want need & deserve.

It's horrible to live with, I hope she finds someone who is caring and will help her vs criticise her x

I'm happy to see updates of both groups of people at the end of the video. They are both extremes...the updates help with recognizing neither one is better than the other.

I don't understand how someone can be a germophobe but wear shoes inside their house !! I'm a germophobe and I could never let anyone wear shoes in my house.
