Kann mich erinnern. Die Russen hatten eine respektable Mannschaft damals und spielten eine starke Qualifikation. Aber das deutsche Team war mit Sammer, Möller, Klinsmann zu stark besetzt.

And to think this match was held a day after a 1.5 tonne truck bomb was detonated in Manchester city centre (something which nobody I know seems to recall).

I miss this Germany ❤😢 💪

I was at this game, I lived locally to Old Trafford and bought a ticket outside for £25, Manchester had been bombed by the IRA the day before.

3:28 that was a clear penalty and minimum yellow for Kopke. He avoided red card against Italy in the next game as well.

@@DmitriKadykov I had to rewatch a couple times, Kopke doesn’t touch the ball, it’s Mostovoy kicking it to the side to pass him. Even if there was a touch it’s like 1% the ball and 99% the player, the ball went beyond Kopke and he denied Mostovoy the open net. I believe penalty plus minimum yellow. Watch the replay a couple times.

Par vraiment l ossature mais 4 piliers Sammer , moller ,reuter et freund Kohler a été forfait très tôt.., le Bayern brillant vainqueur de la Coupe uefa était également très présent avec Klinsmann, le solide ziege sur l aile gauche, Babbel, strunz , Helmer Scholl ,,...il serait injuste d omettre l impressionnante performance de Dieter eilts le milieu défensif du Werder Bremen durant tout le tournoi..

Andreas Moeller; an excellent (yet underrated) German midfielder from the 90s. At the time both he and Mattias Sammer played for the Bundesliga and CL winning Dortmund side of the mid 90s. He regularly sprayed cross field passes with pinpoint accuracy. I loved watching him play. He is, however, something of a divisive character in German football, known for an infamous dive in a BL match. He left Dortmund to go to arch rivals Schalke, which also didn't help his reputation. But none of this should overlook his outstanding talent.

После распада СССР защита всегда была слабейшей линией в сборной России. И даже при этом не ясно, на хрен брали этого деревянного костолома Ковтуна, причём разные тренеры (Романцев, Игнатьев, Бышовец, Газзаев)???
