In this restoration video, I'm restoring an 1800s Antique German Single shot pistol. I found it in an ad on Newfoundland classifieds and contacted the guy I had it shipped to me.
In a picturesque 19th-century Bavarian village nestled among rolling hills and dense forests, there lived a blacksmith named Heinrich Bauer. He was a man of exceptional skill and a profound love for his craft, known throughout the region for his ability to forge exquisite tools, knives, and firearms. But what set Heinrich apart from his peers was his obsession with recreating a pistol reminiscent of the iconic German Single Shot designs of his time.
Heinrich had always been drawn to the elegance and precision of firearms. His fascination began as a boy when he watched the local hunters return from the forest with single-shot pistols and rifles slung over their shoulders. He was captivated by the way these finely crafted weapons blended form and function, each piece a work of art in its own right.

Do you think that all are fool on net. This is simply hand made one shot Desi Kattan thats what it is called in India and some parts of Pakistan and Bangladesh it is available. Every where it is illegal. This can't be from 18th century yar use your brain. In 18th century the guns and pistols were all muzzle loaders.

What made you think that this is a German Made gun ? Germans never do such crude machining , they are renowned for precision engineering. The one in question is actually a crude , illegal gun mostly found in Asian country , mostly in India and in Bangladesh , they are known as "Desi Katta" in local language , mostly made by hand and using a car axle to turn into a smooth bore barrel with the help of lathe, the one in video, are chambered for .315 caliber and NO its not an old gun. There is no proof marking or makers name. Sometime illegal local gun makers stamped it with fancy name and country to get more value while selling them to criminals , they usually sold at a price of INR1500 to 2500 a piece and few often burst while shooting due to poor barrel and breach locking mechanism. Criminals used it as use and throw gun , as they are cheap and hard to detect by police, as they are actually ghost gun with no serial number. I am wondering how this piece landed up to your possessions .

bro dont be confused its not german single shot pistol its desi katta you can search for it. in India this is common weapon used widely in uttar pradesh. you can found this in all over north India this is cheap and and very effective it uses .303 or .315 or shotgun shells.

@@NS-zm6fw that's because of bore availability in india according to law. .303 .315 .22 and .32 is non prohibited bores in india rest cannot be used because government banned them. So thats why use of .303 and .315 used in katta. Moreover katta used a high dense metal that handle high power cartridge. The accuracy of this weapons is not good but it is so lethal that if it hit there is no chance of life. Because 303 is massive round.

Could you write me a brief description of how it is with the legal possession of weapons? Is it hard to get permission? I live in the Czech Republic, where it is possible to hold percussion weapons without a permit. It seems to me that the practical use of these non-alloy weapons for cartridges is quite similar to that of percussion.

@@NS-zm6fw very hard!! If you're a common man it's almost impossible to buy a weapon. Although it's very easy to buy a illegal weapon in black market. But legally it's very very hard. Also you may note that .22 is not very much leathel to human but still you can buy a weapon until you have a connection with a politician. But you will find that communities like r RAJPUTS and SIKHS have their tradition to bear weapons and almost every house of these communities you will a weapons may it was a blade sword or gun. Now come to cartridge this bore of katta is not made for heavy cartridge like .303 also no rifling is done inside barrel so it's just like to pass a bullet in a pipe. But it's still leathel and deadly but only if you fire from a range upto 5 meters because it's obvious that if you fire it from point blank it will done its work. That's why leathel but also it's unreliable because if you see .303 is very heavy cartridge and barrel can't hold it everything I'd it's wealth doesn't meet parameters to fire a cartridge and that why it can burst in your hands too.

@@sonuffensive_vista everything is correct except .303 is a PB and not comes under NPB category. .303 SMLE is still in service for many parts in India. Rest you correctly mentioned as NPB. They use Rifle Ammo as they are easy to procure, either from Civillian or From Corrupted Police
